Why do men like gun/cars?

This is a serious question. It might relate to cars also in that a gun or car has a purpose. but many of us have many guns and many cars. I know you can simplistically say we like them. But try to go deeper. All the articles I found online were just veiled anti-gun rants. I notice when photography was invented men posed with guns.

Maybe it's just a primitive trait ingrained in our dna. Cars and guns are just another tool that could be used to run down and hunt food. If cavemen had them, that's what they'de be using them for. A lot easier than 2 legs and a spear.

I think the beauty thing can be an appreciation of it mechanicals. I have a gun I've never fired. I think I bought it because I suspect it will be banned. I believe I could own a car just to look at if I were rich enough.

When I made my last road trip to check out a car that I wanted (but didn't buy), my roadtrip/car buddy that I've been all over the country with called a friend of ours in Phoenix and told her what we were up to. Her immediate response was, 'Do you really need another old car?' My immediate response was, 'Absolutely not! I didn't need the first one.' Some people just don't get it. I know many feel that if they don't use a car regularly, it doesn't justify their ownership. I might only drive some of mine a few times per year, but when I do, they make me happy. That's all I need!
