I have a 66 Belvedere, with a 440 under the hood! i freshened up the Engine, replaced a lot of things!! Anyway runns good, starts up smoothly. It drives well with a little hesitation at 1/4 gas, but hits hard around 1/2 throttle!! My main concern right now is that the motor stalls out after i drive it around a little. I let it cool down and it starts right up! Whats the deal!! What you guys think, Electrical, Carburetor, or??

choke settings......seems minor but will do it. What carb? dual feed? spacer? need more info

1407 700cfm edelbrock carb, single feed, no spacer!! i read up on Vapor lock, seems like that might be the problem!!

I'm having a similar issue, it'll start cold but once I shut it down it dosent want to stay running with out some pressure on the accelerator

im def not an expert on this one...but i always go for the simplest thing first.

a limp choke spring is an easy fix. .02

If it wants to fire but doesn't start it's the carb or timing. If it isn't firing check the coil. My satty would run fine until I would shut it off then it wouldn't start, had an msd coil and it went bad. Also check the ballast resistor when they get hot a bad one can also cause this. Hope this helps HOWARD

Well it might be a little intense, but i had some extra exhaust wrap laying around! I wrapped the fuel line, and filter with it!! I let it warm up, drove it around town, and problem solved!! Looks like it was Vapor Lock!! I cant believe how helpful this forum is sometimes, Thanks Guys!!

glad to be of help....and sublime440......VAPOR LOCK THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !
