Why is this a thing?

If you think extreme camber looks ridiculous, you'll really hate this video. And yes, they do drive them like this. :)

In some crowds, that "Look" is called Stanced.
In other words, the car has a specific Stance. That extreme negative camber is not a simple adjustment either. You have to really modify the mounting points of the suspension to get that look.
Hey...I think it looks dumb as **** like most of you do BUT....
Who remembers this look?

That's how muscle cars looked when I grew up. Some were over the top,but the right stance with big fat tires was awesome. As for the gasser look,I have a 4 speed Challenger carcus that has 70s old school rear fender flares, and a set of fenderwell headers,I am trying to talk myself out of building a supercharged gasser out of it! I already have more than enough projects to do!

Right before we retired it, the '63 Ford 250(350?) wore tires out like the ones in this video would, on the front.
But it did it because the king pins were about to give out. Between that and the rust is why it was retired.
We had two old nylon ten ply's in the shed to keep as wagon wheel spares with one perfectly new line of tread on the outside and worn to the cords on the inside.
Intentionally setting the car up like this is pretty LOL, but people can do what they want.
Pretty sure I saw a Dodge Stealth in there.......

I guess on the plus side they must save a lot of money on tire shine product for shows with the sidewalls pointed in the air like that.

To each their own though, this is America.
This. It re-clicked in my mind about people’s opinions I’ve encountered: You can complement someone else’s ride knowing it’s their thing and not your thing. On the other hand, people don’t need to say anything to someone about their not liking it. What’s the point?

Had such occasion when a guy had walked over to look my car when I was in a store. I noticed him walking around it as I started the long walk back to it, he continued looking it over. When I got to the car we made eye contact giving a quick hello. Then – he says I never really liked the body style on this car.

It was a quick irritation for me. I said did you spend all your time looking at my car, that you don’t like, and waited here just so you could let me know? What should I do with your information, other than my thinking you’re an asshole? Got any other comments before I take off?

Had a few people in the family and a friend of my dad’s like this who would piss me off, overly opinionated, criticizing was their thing; but oh what they had was always the best.
