CEDAR CITY, UT—According to sources, local wife Sarah Quint has encouraged her husband to buy a new video game he's been wanting, which will allow her to justify her impending purchase of an air fryer, new shoes, cute pens, and a "really cute" $300 umbrella.

“I have given my husband a pass to buy something silly,” said Sarah as she symbolically washed her hands, “so I am now innocent of this financial burden.”

This is not the first time Sarah has employed such a tactic. She previously encouraged her husband to buy an overpriced graphic novel so she wouldn't feel so bad about purchasing an expensive 10-year day spa membership. "Every time he brings up the spa membership, I just point to his stack of pristine, original Walking Dead comics," she said. "Checkmate!"

According to sources, Sarah's husband, Greg, has grown suspicious of his wife's seemingly unending generosity. “Every time I’m about to sit down and talk finances with her I find myself going shopping. Maybe I should stop buying stuff,” he said. "As soon as buy just one more game on Steam."

WTF

We buy what we want, when we want.

No permission needed or given.

people.....

She asked me to buy a new 8" knife for kitchen. I being cheap picked a well rated knife. Was reluctant to buy the Wusthof might be China made . She goes looking for knives an decided to buy a Wusthof Classic 8" $175. I told don't open the if it's says made in China. It came and was made in Solingen Germany, never had a knife cut like that, literally razor sharp. She bought a paring a day later.

Hell yeah! Wife keeps complaining she has nothing to buy me for Christmas because I keep buying stuff as needed.
Say it isn't so! lol

Never had that problem and , lucky for me, my wife is a car person. She still has gobs of her original hot wheels cars stashed in cases squirreled away so the grand kids don't break em.

It was nice of your wife to let you get the HEMI:poke:
:D

Plus....it was on sale! The more you buy, the more you save!

My wife bought me my car and what difference does it make at my age, if I don't get it now, when will I. She buys whatever she wants, whenever and deserves it.

I asked them once at shop and save, the more you buy the more you save, how much do I have to buy before it's free.

Yup

If my bills are paid, my 401k is paid, and I pay myself, I am free to do whatever the hell I want with the rest of my money. My wife knows where the door is if she ever wants to leave.

Some men miss having a mother around so bad that they marry one.

When I was a kid only on the RAREST of occasions did I get something new with the exception of my birthday or Christmas. Then when I started working it was like "****, I'm gonna buy a new pair of socks on payday"! And both my wife and I have been that way ever since - close to 50 years now. But we're both pretty reasonable with money and large expenditures are usually discussed. And there has ALWAYS been "her money", "my money" and "household money" so we've never gone hungry because of a "personal" expenditure. Our kids are pretty much the same. So yeah, Christmas shopping can be tough so we do the "secret santa" thing with a $100 limit. But we still surprise each other and the kids with something we "probably" would never buy for ourselves. Last year she got me this:

There's a good attitude! How many wives have you been through so far?!?!

Personally I've always thought the cost of compromise was cheaper than child support and alimony !!

A good friend of mines wife was always having things done on the house, and allowing him to make the decisions. She also wanted him to buy a nice vehicle, he had a Dakota club cab just in case he needed to haul something. She had a BMW, so he bought one of those expensive CUV’s. Only to find out she was setting him for the divorce, so she could get the house and say he wanted all the upgrades, and that she keep her Beemer because she had a nice car too. Then tried to tell the courts that he had over $1m in cash hoarded and she should get 1/2 of thst. She got the house and her Beemer, and he got rid of her, cheap too, because he had way more on his side that she forgot to mention.

Been married 8 years going strong. The same goes for me too, and she can buy whatever her little heart desires. $700 shoes, luxury handbags, w/e. I don't tell her what to do with her money and she does the same. It all works out for us personally, everyone's relationship is different.

We also don't have kids, she makes more money than I and I make enough to support us both, is 8 years my senior, and her family is well off. I'm pretty happy.

if she has Redlnes, they are worth Crazy money now.
even some of the next gen black wheels are worth good money, esp in certain models.
i sold out most of mine, and bought Real cars, tools, equipment, and so forth from the proceeds.
just a thought.
