Will an E body 8 3/4 fit 69 Charger?

Hi guys, i'm new on here and this is my first post. As the title says i need to know if an E body 8 3/4 rear end will fit my 69 Charger. I currently have an 8 1/4 behind a 440 that i need to replace. I have found a few rear ends for sale, 2 from e bodies and one from a 71/74 b body. Any advice on which setup i should get? All are reasonably priced, any input would be greatly appreciated! Well yeah. Anything can be made to fit in anything. But as it comes, no.

It's a bit wider, but a 69 wheel well is pretty forgiving.

For that application, relocating the perches is probably a good idea.

If that's what's available and affordable in your part of the world, it's certainly doable and relatively painless.

Over here, the 68-70 (and 66-67) 8 3/4 is the easiest to find and the cheapest.

Looks like the E body is roughly 1.5 inches wider flange to flange (that's ONLY 3/4 inch per side).

Perch difference is 2" or 1" per side.

My Duster with a 67 axle was 3/4" perch difference per side and almost dropped in.
That extra 1/4" per side might make it uncomfortable, but sourcing a fairly generic set of perches and the grinding and welding may be easier to stomach than locating and or shipping a 100 lb+ axle around the world.

If you can deal with the extra 3/4" per side of overall length.....bottom line is...not much work to do...and you're in business.

Shipping an 8 3/4 housing and axles is not that bad and it is a lot better than cutting and welding something to try to make it work unless you are jig set up to do it right FGS

I think his measurements are right, mark. He listed "track width", not flange to flange. Big difference.

Please explain the difference. 62-69 did not have the same track.
