I've thinking about putting an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with a Holley 750 carb on my 1972 440 Roadrunner and I'm not sure if it will fit under my stock hood. Is anyone running this set-up in a 72 with the stock hood? I also have a high capacity Moroso oil pan I was thinking about using. These parts were previously used in a 1971 Charger but I'm not sure what hood was on the Charger. photo (11).JPG

I believe it should fit fine, are you going to use a factory air cleaner or aftermarket? If aftermarket can just get a drop base and a 2-3" air filter element

I'd like to use the factory air cleaner if possible

I would guess probably not if you want to use the factory air cleaner. The RPM intake is 1.9" taller than a stock one. If you car is together now, put some putty on top of the air cleaner stud and measure what you have for room.

can I find an aftermarket air cleaner that will fit or do I need to find a new hood or a different intake?

I got the most hood clearance with a 1.25" drop base, K&N 2 5/16 Extreme filter, K&N filtered top, and no hood insulation. This was on a 69 Charger - you might have more room available with a Road Runner.
