Windows 8 is a piece of crap!

I'm still running Vista on all 4 of my computers...I'm dreading the day I gotta switch over to a new operating system

I really liked 98 & XP a lot

Boy I wish this would have been posted a week ago I just bought a new comp.and it has the 8 on it I guess I'll try and return the thing! & is the only way to go fro sure it's easy to navigate I'm techy handicapped! had to get a new phone recently and haven't begun to figure out what all the crap on it is!

The biggest problem is that Bill Gates thought he could copy or steal from apple again. They saw that Apple was making money from the apps side and MS wanted a piece of the pie hence win 8.
This OS is all about making the extra money from us the consumer. Bottom line it has nothing to do with a better OS at all!!!!!!!!!

Hi all from "government land" where I work. :hello: I'm sure "Gates" and his MS cronies are gearing up to petition their duche congressmen from Washington State to force the Department of Defense, etc, etc to buy W8 for all Air Force/Army/Navy/NSA computers :icon_salut:

That way they can still profit when the consumers are raising hell about it. Besides, MS will only charge the special GOVERNMENT RATE (read 5x normal cost) to have it istalled on our computers. We'll find all the errors for you guys with your taxpayer $$$. Just like Vista a while back!

Off my soapbox....

if you like vista, win7 is really close. only difference is, win7 plays well with programs and updates lol

Microsoft pretty much lost me after XP. I had used them since the 386 days and finally moved over to a Mac. I'm in education, so for a while it made a lot of sense to be Mac based anyway. My new school is a mixed bag of technology, which is another issue all unto itself. My classroom was outfitted with a PC running on Vista. I had them take it away and I use my own MacBook Pro instead. It does cost more at first for what you get, but over time the cost balances out, especially if you use iPads, iPhones, and the like. While we're speaking of technology, you guys should check out Chromecast. Google developed a wireless HD connection between any iPad or iPhone that runs Chrome and can connect to a wireless network. Netflix, Youtube and other similar apps can be run from your phone or iPad to your tv. It's pretty badass.

I got three new cornputers recently. The W8 laptop and the two refurb IBM's. The IBM's are W7 and I had very little trouble jumping right in and making stuff happen. I was on XP for years and had no issues, and like Mar said, W7 is close enough.

I had W7 and I could navigate thru everything I wanted to. The laptop I have now is W8 and I can't do crap with it. I download photos on it and they disappear and I can't find them. Don't even have the same MSN homepage anymore.

You all know that Windows 8 has a desktop mode. Pretty close to windows 7. When 8.1comes out it should allow you to boot directly to desktop mode instead of seeing the tiles which is goodfor touch or surface devices. I was testing Win 8 I my last job, and its not that bad and certainly better the vista which had all the security warnings and compatibility issues. Windows 7 is the workhorse MS OS and should be supported for sometime..

I have an iMac at home and Win 7 Pro at work. Both have thier good points and thier bad points, if spend enough time with them it all just works out.
I upgraded my business computers (25 or so) last year to win 7 so no win8 for me.

I did enjoy the video and shared it with my IT and engineering group.

So funny. When i ordered my DELL desktop like 5 years ago they offered the 'current' version of windows or the older version because the 'current' one was all FUBAR'd. Some things don't change.

Yep, but like the video says....It's stoooopid! I don't want to start my puter and have a bunch of junk in the way trying to sell me stuff. I was happy to see it get picked up by the UPS guy with a big RMA number on the box!

after getting my new laptop with W8 I was ready to return it too,It is a Dell from HH Gregg,it came with no instructions,I had to call tech support to just find out how to turn the computer off,I was told the laptop I bought could not be converted to W7.My old laptop was using Windows XP and that was horrible after 8 years it started locking up and trying to search the internet was torture,Not responding do you want to send an error report? trying to get Email from my outlook took like 1/2 hour.I was frustrated at first but the speed I have now is great and now I know how to turn it off I am content with it.

The Geek said that he hated Windows 8 and that it's the worst and stay far far away from it

This will probably get most of the Geek Squad fired now. See what you did?(ROFLMAO)
That has been my experience too. I was getting my HP desktop sorted out (64 bit Win 7) at my local Best Buy and the Geek Squad guy said he was glad to be able to fix my machine as the replacement HP models have nothing but Win 8 on them and he said it's crap and they get many service calls from frustrated users. He said Win 8.1 is not totally useless but one should stick with Win 7 for the foreseeable future.

I started with 98 and went XP loved at first hesitated about Vista but tried it and liked it have 7 now and am not letting it go so far.
7 has been the most stable yet. Still have my Vista machine and another with XP planning upgrades to both to 7.

I never had the luck with XP that others had recently litterly two days ago my 22 year old son confessed to down loading junk every time I had problems tho he thought it was hilarious reminiscing about how hard I would have to work on the dang things getting them to work after wards...... (needed for my Job at the time!)

Isn't their some sort of parenting unwritten rule that allows for an *** beating or something in these cases?

Funny how after he moved out ALL my computer issues all went away.......

Windows 8.1 is awesome..

Mine works EXACTLY like Windows 7..

If you cannot work it out, you are probably OLD, Stubborn or a combination of the two.

Windows 8.1 Brings back the Start button, my pc boots direct to desktop..I NEVER, EVER use the Windows 8 Metro interface...EVER..
