worn leaf springs?

This may be a dumb question, but that never stopped me before. How does a fella know if his leaf springs are worn out enough to warrant replacement? My GTX rides fairly well and sits level. Leave well enough alone?

Sounds like the springs are good.
You may want to consider the bushings in the rear shackles and front hangar. (Depending on how old they are...)

If it looks good and feels good leave it alone. You pretty much answered your question.

Not a dumb question. Generally, as long as you still have "arch" in the springs, for all intents and purposes, they're good. When they "flatline", well then that speaks for itself.

Baby Blue (the '68 GTX I owned twice in 40 years) still has the factory originals, and they have held up fine, with 120,000 miles.

Leaf springs are suppose to resemble this shape U, maybe not as drastic, unless you want the butt high in the air.

If your car looks like a dog squatting to relieve itself then they're probably worn out.

From some research that I did, sitting normal doesn't necessarily mean that they work properly under load (acceleration, bumps, etc).
Then again, if you feel the car drives ok and sits how you like it, you're probably fine.
