Yes,the blower motor when I took it apart. The reason,,,,,,,,I threw more boost at it than the carbs could handle and detonated.Thank GOD it did not bend a valve on the way out:eusa_boohoo:Answer the problem with a pair of SV1 carbs that Patrick says will handle whatever I can throw at them.Hope to be out this year.

I as lucky on that one.nothing fell into the block.Changed her up to roller top end and carryed on.WHEWWWW.

Broken fords

My Ford rears and fronts hate me.

Trucks -
  • we're going to skip all the things I pulled off my '99 Exploder.
  • 1997 F150 - Shredded rear axle
  • 2003 F150 Shredded front axle when 4WD engagement pin sheared off and became shrapnel

My 2002 Mustang -
  • First time - young stupid, repetative brake stands resulted in shredded spider gears
  • Second time (current) - chunk of something wedged between the carrier and ring gear. Also this noise:

I had that happen to my 10 1/4" sterling axle in my F350 recently. I'll see if I can find the pics to that 1.

I can't for the life of me find the pics of my ford sterling rearend chunked up. Oh well, Here is a pic of my Belvedere I'm working on, but the reason I'm acutally posting this is because (try not to laugh now) while unloading the doner car off the trailer for this '66 the brakes failed. Well being the foreword thinker I am I had installed a back up emergency brake in the car for just this type of emergency (a block of wood!). I opened the door to apply emergency brake (block of wood) but the car proceeded to roll over it and keep going, not so good. Feeling quite helpless and in a state of shock I just held on for the ride. The car continued rolling into the garage and only stopped when contact with the rear wall of the building happened. Unfortunatly being this garage was built sometime between 1935-1959 the builder of this structure neglected to install bolts to tie the wall down or keep from being pushed off its foundation when a large object hits it at unknown speed. As I got out to look at the damages the bumper I WAS going to use was now clearly worthless I also saw that the wall was not only slid back but had been pushed off the stem wall about 1 1/2", also clear to see by the daylight showing. Luckily I'm a contractor with just the (questionably) right tools and farmer/redneck knowledge to get it back onto the foundation stem wall within a few hours. /Users/rebeccacollett/Desktop/Steve/belvedere 2010.jpg
This might not be a motor blow up but heck, it was still quite the event.
Hope the pic works too!
