When you have a conversation with a PC person just tell them all the remarks are a reference to the past and you can't explain true history with out all the color good or bad.
Very few people ever got to see this, but Chrysler did a commercial for the K car back in the 1980s when the competition with Japan was hot and heavy. The ad showed a K car driving along a road, but you had no idea where it was. The voiceover went something like...
"At Chrysler, we wanted to develop drivetrain components that are engineered to the highest standards possible because we know you don't like surprises.
"We also develop service plans and departments that work hard to meet all your needs because we know you don't like surprises.
"And we also created the best bumper-to-bumper warranty in the business because we know you don't like surprises."
Then the car comes around a bend and you realize it is driving along Pearl Harbor Naval Station and you can see the Arizona Memorial in the background, and the voiceover says "and why do we do this? Because nobody likes surprises."
I think they only aired that commercial five times before the Japanese government filed a complaint and Chrysler was forced to pull it.
