Depends on the drive... late at night with a destination hasta be Radar Love. If you're in a hurry, some early Ted Nugent or the Wicked Tinkers will actually add mph to your top end. If you're just cruisin, obviously the Beach Boys [I prefer Pet Sounds and later myself] or other mid 60s non motown pop is great. Sergio Mendes is great for a mellow groove. And the Allman Bros or the CDB works for rural drives. and...
Man there are so many great songs out there to cruise to there isn't enough room here to post them! My '"Driving Songs'' playlist on my Ipod has about 100 songs, all specifically chosen to drive to. Includes classic rock, underground hip hop, electronic music, and even some big band tunes haha so It's hard for me to pick 1 favorite when I pretty much love all types of music.
Boy! The more I think about this, there are a lot more songs. I've also been a big fan of CRR and John Fogerty (his concerts are great). Bob Seger has been a favorite also and 'Makin Thunderbirds' is pure rock and roll. Great song for drivin'.
