I do parkerizing on guns. I make my own solution from kitchen grade phosphoric acid and manganese. It is incredibly cheap. Once the reaction is complete I rinse in hot water and coat in beeswax. It gets right in the pores. I did my hunting rifle forty years ago. I use it every year, hunt hard, and it still looks great.
