Help guys! Sprung a decent trans fluid leak at the cable input. Got it apart- no easy task. Ordered a seal kit but aside from the big o-ring, I can't see where the others might go. There aren't any other seals or o-rings and the housing doesn't come apart from the cable at all. The pics show the assembly hanging down- there's enough slack. 65 Belvedere auto, 318. Yes I have the exploded view pick of the assembly.

Is the O-ring on the housing good? Looks like there's 'notch' in it.....?

I'm gonna replace the big o-ring. Don't think there's any other that can be gotten to. I think the only option on the 65 is to replace the whole cable with assembly. Kinda sucks. For now, I'm gonna coat it in RTV and plasti dip, then wrap a fuel line around it with clamps and pray. If that fails, I'll order the whole cable assembly and bite the bullet. I guess this year really isn't serviceable

You'll need the small seal inside of the speedometer gear. Hope you can see how it goes by this picture.

Hmmm, that seal did come in the pack. I don't see one in the gear I just took out. The new seal I got seems bigger than the opening. Gonna have a look. THANKS!

Probably where you leak is coming from. The small seal keeps fluid from going into the end of the cable. Also your large o-ring has a nick in it. I'd avoid using any sealer.
