I would have to pull that motor and repaint the engine bay... i can handle bad bodywork or paint.. but not a black engine bay...

Price isn't bad though if you like that body style.

Simple maintenance items like burned brake light and stuck horn not being addressed would make one look closer at everything.

Yes, 88 is the factory paint code in 1967 was called Bright Blue Metallic in the Plymouth line. The 1 signifies that it is a monotone not a two tone.

Two tone cars have the top painted one color and the rest of the body, below the belt line, another color.

Bright Blue Metallic (88-1) is a shade darker than Medium Blue Metallic CC-1. (Despite the fact that logic would make one think the opposite when looking at the names.) I have an original paint chip from PPG that I am looking at. 88-1 Is used in single tone paint jobs and CC-1 can be used in two-tone paint jobs (schemes).

The car in post #1 looks like a two tone paint scheme to me. So, what are the two likely paint codes on this car?

Also, was a white interior an option for a two tone blue car?

I know this doesn’t apply to @SlingLow, but it back fired on a guy who tried to buy a GTX from me. The car wasn’t on the market. He heard about it through the grapevine.

My wife was present when he made a substantial offer. She took an instant dislike to him. Said no deal, and she has never liked my cars.

As others have mentioned, only fender emblems on a 67 would be the Satellite script. Blacked out engine bay, hood stripes and lack of silver below the body side molding usually indicate a repaint. The silver on the lower body is not considered 2-tone paint as far as fender tag options go - mine is TT1 paint code. Not sure about a 2-tone hood option. The 2-tones I have seen are different color roof and an example I used to have was WE2 - white with a dark blue roof though it had been repainted all dark blue when I got it.

Check the rear wheel wells, quarters and trunk drops for rust repair. Lower front fender behind the wheels and lower corners of the doors are also typical rust locations. Look over the body-side molding - replacements are hard to find, especially wheel lips. I often see the wrong taillights and tail panels on these as well. Not a bad price IMO if it all checks out. Good luck!

Bought my 67 Belvedere II 383 4-bbl similar condition, 84k documented mileage, well kept, original inside and out, but with a bit of quarter panel rust $18k flat. At the time this number was average between good and fair. I thought I got a great deal.

Loving my Mopar.

This is a departure from the post's topic, but what a really nice Satellite you have there. I love everything about it. My 67 Belvedere is bench seat and column shifter. I prefer buckets and console shift. Pluc AC, and power brakes!!? Not to mention the sublte hints of a GTX. Man oh man. Now I want to trade up.

Thanks for the info and advice @DeltaV . I thought it was two-tone from the pics but the seller says it's not. Must be a trick of light which I saw on pics of other blue Sattys as well. The hood stripes could have been added over the original paint or be part of a repaint. I did find a code for paint stripe delete but don't know for sure that it applies to the silver on the Sattelite or this car. I don't have a paint thickness gauge other than my eye but have a magnet, flashlight and a set of ramps to at least get the endes up enough to crawl under. I'm a small guy so it's doable. I think the father owned it for 4 years, but I got a lot of info in one phone call so I'm a bit fuzzy on that. The lack of pics is concerning but it's only 2 hours from me so I can check it out in person. I'm really hoping I don't get disappointed. I'm at about 50-50 on this one coming home with me. I've come home empty several times so no big deal. How do you know he's an Eagles fan (I was for 1 day recently). As far as the wife, the car is parked 25 miles from the seller's house in his mother's garage so I don't expect her to be present. History has taught me that if the wife is involved, direct conversation to both, not just one. Oh yeah, that black engine bay? I don't like it but it's not necessarily a deal breaker for me. I spend as much time as possible behind the wheel and am only under the hood for maintenance and repair - hopefully not all that often.

Thank you for the info and advice as well @copper67sat . It looks like it's not silver below the molding in the pics, but the shadows might be hiding it. I'll know later today. That's a sweet ride you have there. Maybe I'll join the club (and try to find that gas cap).

That's interesting. I pulled up Hagerty yesterday and #2 was $40k. I was surprised to see $42k on your screenshot so I pulled it up again just now - $42k. It went up $2k overnight. I have a top dollar in mind that might keep me from making the deal, but it's all subject to inspection. If the overall condition doesn't meet my standards for a driver, I'll just pass. I've seen what appears to be factory undercoating on more than one Satellite. Does yours have that?

I looked up the telephone number given in the ad for the car and found his name. Then, I searched his common name/surname in Facebook and found a hit in Oregon.
