What are 68-69 Charger Dash and VINs going for?

In a practical sense I gotta say most likely if I ever get pulled over and have my day ruined it will be by my local cop, not a federal agent, so I do kind of want to know what he/she thinks.

While I do think that the likelihood of facing Federal charges is low, conflicts come from registering, insuring and absolutely when selling.
A Crown Victoria dressed as a Charger is still a Ford and has to be registered as one.
Hey...anyone that knows me knows how I love to screw with the system but there are matters where it is an impossible fight.

...and yet a friend of mine restomoded a 68 charger by dropping the shell over a salvage titled modern scat pac Challenger. Absolutely beautiful job. Salvage title for challenger went in burn pit...car is registered and vined as a 68 charger 318.In NY, this means no smog, and cheap insurance....and the best part? No one gives a ****.

Which begs the question, where is the line drawn between a "resto-mod" and a "re-body" ? I wonder, though, if the insurance company would give a **** should a claim arise.
