I do (now) recall LA also built them - I ran a search with "E" and still came up empty. I don't have the actual ordering docs to reference, so I'm not positive there weren't any from Jefferson, but I don't recall ever seeing a tag for one. Maybe someone else can tell for sure?
Hey Grant - double check your plant code? "A" or "G" I believe; - no "C" Jefferson Ave Roadrunners that I'm aware of. A cursory search of the full VIN (A or G) came up empty.
A long 'rod-brace' runs from the threaded holes down to the lower driver-side dash mount/pivot on my '69 Satellite rag. Pic early in disassembly.
For what it's worth.
Regarding the high-performance/increased clearance engines, the "8lb they" dates at least as far back as 1962 Mother Mopar. TSB lifted from Hamtramck Historical attached for perusal.
Based on this photo with the conspicuously-missing matching VIN stamp on the trans flange, and the "new" bolt/washer, I'd be pretty confident this is not the original. Maybe OP is still around to confirm/deny? @JOMIDABR
Concur. In '69, "L" would be the HP 375hp "TNT" Chrysler engine; the "standard" 350hp 440 would have been a "K". Transmission part number on the pan rail should be 2892 093.
This transmission had fairly wide usage:
Late 68 (after March 15, 1968) / all 69 Belvedere, Coronet and Charger with...
As stated; part number tag. This one happens to be tacked on upside-down. "90", not "06" - for part number 2962 090. '1970 Charger, Coronet and Satellite with V-8 except Hemi or 440.
SB = small block; BB = big block. Used across manufacturers, too SBC/Chevy, SBF/Ford, SBM/Mopar. etc.
Really shouldn't be an 8-1/4 in a '68 unless swapped in, but good to check.
