Thanks for the replys, I'll go read those articles.
I should post the pics of the quarter...
The car was previously hit and repaired on the driver side. It was repaired with a junk yard panel, welded across bottom of the sail panel similar to the pics you posted. unfortunately they didn't...
What is the best way to do full quarter replacement on a unibody?
I have a '68 Coronet. I bought full quarters and trunk extentions from AMD.
I have stripped the car down, and currently I am straightening the doors and fenders. First plan was to straighten the doors, and put them back on...
That is a good idea... Thanks
I saw a newer challenger last summer that was titanium, but i drove through the dealership the other day and they didn't have anything, didn't think about getting some touch up paint.
Just wondering if anybody has painted their car with the newer dodge titanium color.
I've been searching through the "show me your pic" threads, and haven't found anything old done with that color, but I'm sure there has been.
My car is a '68 Coronet...
I need to decide on a color soon...
Thanks for the input...
I'm going to see if the junk yard will take it back in swap for a BB K-frame they had.
If not i'll be interested in more info on the swap the with the 308 bearings?
So am I understanding right that you can add the 308 bearings to the aluminum case to make it stronger??
So maybe it is only worth keeping to use behind the 318 for now if I'm not going to switch to a big block right away??
Can you change out the 1st gear out to make it more streetable?
I was wondering if anybody is running a later year 833 OD trans in a b-body?
I brought one home from the junk yard yesterday...
got home and started doing some research on it...
Casting number C-13546-B date coded from '83 so it is an OD 833 out of a van or truck.
From what I've found...
What shifter model is that? Looks very nice!!
I like the looks of the B&M street rod shifter, but it is only for GM transmissions...
Looks like I will probably go with the quicksilver model, or the unimatic model.
I haven't really looked at any other than the B&M though.
maybe I...
OK,
I'm still in the planning stages, hope to start working on my car in 2-3 weeks.
here is what I'm thinking of doing, anybody done this?
I bought a '68 coronet, the guy I got it from didn't do much other than strip the interior out, and buy brand new black bucket seats...
I'm thinking...
Thanks again for all the welcomes...
My new work schedule has kept me busy, not much computer time lately, and no garage time.
Also Welcome to Dave!!! where in Wi are you?
I just looked at the pic again, and the 16" measurement is not in the right position, I believe I measured that from firewall mounting plate to mounting holes, I'll double check and update the pic...
The pic is of the A-body column by the way if I didn't say that earlier...
My brother in...
Well, Here is what I found out...
I think an A-body column will bolt in with the mounting bracket from the B-body (the brackets are different, but the 4 holes in the column are the same on both cars. The only thing I'm not sure of is once it passes through the firewall...
Here is a pic...
Thanks alot for the info...
I can measure up the one from the Dart on Sat, but I didn't want to disassemble mine yet if I didn't have too...
I guess they also make a kit to convert a non power steering column to a power or vice versa according to my brother in law, but I haven't checked into...
Yeah those pics are pretty forgiving. I'll have to take some better ones of the damage when we start on body work. the passenger side quarter in front of the wheel well looks like they used a nail punch to pound out some dents... then the drivers side quarter was hit, and they welded a patch...
Yeah I didn't even think of mounting, I was mainly thinking they might have different lengths being different size cars...
I'm very new to working on these cars so forgive dumb questions, but...
is there a difference in the steering column between a power steering car, and a non power...
Hello from Wisconsin,
I figured I should post a few pics of my new coronet, and tell a little about it, before bombarding you guys with a million questions...
I'm switching over from a-bodies, and joining the dark side
Last summer I bought a '74 Dart, fixed a few things on it...
Hello,
I'm new member, and newbie question for you...
Will an steering column from an a-body ('69 dart) fit in a b-body ('68 Coronet)
I am going to switch to a floor shift, and have access to an a-body non column shift steering column if it would bolt up to the coronet.
Thanks,
Matt
