Hey Don, just wanted to thank you again for providing me with that information for ignition set-up. Ordered the Transdenser II unit from Dale at Overnight Solutions and it is installed and working perfectly ! You saved me money and frustration. Doug
Very interesting. Thank you very much for the info. Could it really be that simple and cheap to fix this problem ? So did you have the 55hp for long after you installed that set-up ? Ran fine at all RPM's ?
I am looking for any info on converting these old OMC ignition systems over to a MSD 6A set-up. I believe they were used from like '68 up to '73-4 maybe. I have read about it being a do-able swap, but just wondered if anyone on here would have any good info. Basically I believe I need to cut the...
I would check that when suspension is loaded, that the end of the adjuster bolt is seated properly into the receptacle/lever on lower control arm. Then, if you completely unload suspension and your adjuster bolt is completely turned out ( no threads showing on top of nut ), you should be able to...
Had a great time at the Pontiac Nationals (Norwalk, Ohio) a couple weeks ago with my buddy. I go there with him, he goes to Mopar Nats with me. I would LOVE to have a '73 Grand Am ! My buddy had a spotless one in like '78 or '79 that was just beautiful. There's kind of a ratty red one that runs...
The bore could already be oversize, so you honing it won't help anything. I would pull it apart first and see if you find anything obvious that you could safely and confidently fix (split/torn/mis-installed/wrong size cup).
Man, I'm a big wagon guy (have three currently and at least five others) but not sure there is a need for new forum. None of mine are B- bodies, but just look around and you will find what you're after or go searching for Wagon's Of Steel, if they are still around.
I was there, but unless your car was parked behind a young lady who was lifting up her shirt, then I wouldn't have a picture of it. The last year in Springfield was crazy. Cops shut down our main drag, made everybody pack up and get out of town. We had police helicopters hovering over our...
Have a '95 parts car (daily driver for years), '96 ( manual trans, 130K miles), and an '01 (fishing, camping, dirt biking vehicle). My son's only vehicle is my sister's old '00 ( nice gold edition, 140K miles). Had a couple others that are long gone. Love them ! Did I mention that I live in...
Well, I am not a Gold member, so I really have no right to complain, but as Joe Walsh said "Sometimes I still do". So my issue is ; since the upgrade to the site, I no longer enjoy coming here. Nothing really seems to work right for me and it is just frustrating as heck. I am a life-long B body...
Yeah, the jackass is in such a hurry to get some video of the shrapnel under the car, so he can get some more "YouTube gold", that he can't take the time to grab a jack stand when he brings out the jack ! How famous he would be if that jack failed and his customer was crushed. Then the idiot...
Why would anyone care about stock exhaust valve size ? Who in the heck would run these heads without going to (at least) 2.14" and 1.81" valves ?? Never understood everyone asking if it's an "HP" head or not.
