Well every pan gasket I've ever bought in the last 20 years has only come with the "turkey " tray and a small tube of black rtv in the box. If you re read my original post, you may see that I'm not questioning if I have to use a paper gasket ( obliviously not! ). i'm questioning the contents...
looked in the engine compartment and realized that the power steering bracket for a small block is different than one for a big block!:eusa_think: maybe I should have done the same thing I did yesterday! :icon_sad:
Paper gasket???? Am I missing something here? I've never received a pan gasket with paper anything in the box and I just bought one a month ago! Just the stock replacement one from Felpro.
Hey, I have to second Ron 73's reply. My 72 is the same ( really tight ). A" bodies have the same setup and I did put them straight up and down once to see what would happen....not very good, seat was alot easier to put back in but it was too loose and vibrated quite a bit. Now I just don't...
Thanks for your input, B-Bodies are my favorite also and I don't know about where you are but up here on vancouver island,(west coast of Canada) the 71-74 are almost as rare as the Dodo bird and this one really gets attention just being parked in the back alley.
Had a 71' 440 4spd RR years ago and You're right, they are a ball. But I just found a 71' A body That is in decent shape that I could put a 440 in. Just can't decide what road to take.:confused5:
It kinda reminds me of something...kid named arnie used to drive one just like it, I heard he got in ALOT of trouble with it. Was red and white and sinister........Wait! maybe that was a 58'
