I plastic welded the cracks together. Then cut a tiny channel over each crack and filled with JB weld. On one serious crack I put a tiny strip of metal under the JB weld. Finished with SEM. came out great. perfect color.

I think youre right. I have to check that area. I had to do some welding there and most likely took it off.

Im looking at my picture and see only one drill hole. Is what I have the actual companion brace or is the second hole plugged up? I should have both in the garage somewhere. Will let you know.

Back in the 80s we would take quarters and dash pads off at the junkyard with the vin numbers on it. Slap them on our cars. Replaced it with our vin and no one cared. Its what was available. How much of the body can be replaced before it is considered tagged?
