WTF is this: B&M clutch flite

I had seen a few at Fremont out West in the early 70’s. Similar setup on the GMC tranny they called a hydro stick I think? Shortly thereafter in Wisconsin a guy had one on a 727. Seemed to work well. He liked it because he could vary the launch rpm as he needed. I believe the explosion risk was...

What's it Worth 69 Roadrunner - project car

I’ll stick my neck out and say it would move at $12-15K with a clean title. Rust repair and unknown’s are the negatives. The car does have things going for it.

Broke down and tried a new converter

GER was an interesting outfit back then. Remember the “no better converter available at any price” or some words to that effect in their ads? Anyway thanks for posting this. Gives me some more to think about over the winter.

What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

The past few unusually warm days I spent arranging/prepping/covering all the cars for winter. I'd sold a couple this summer so actually had enough room! Then late yesterday and into today I did the same for motorcycles. However: During the pandemic I'd discovered motorcycles were priced pretty...

    WTB Junk 440 block

Just a thought; 413 blocks aren’t nearly as in demand as 440’s. I see old motor home 413’s advertised dirt cheap. I picked up a 40,000 mile 413 like that for $200. Spotless inside. Scrapped the water pump, heads and other RV unique stuff. At a minimum you could end up with a good crank, bb...

    Anyone Ever Traded Cars?

Few years back I had an AZ 65 Biscayne 2 dr sedan. Super solid body with fairly good white repaint. Traded for a 65 Fury I 2 dr sedan. Low miles original with 1 half assed repaint. It turned out we’d both been wanting to offer a trade but figured the other wouldn’t bite. Had a good laugh over...

Rock Falls raceway, Wisconsin Fallout nostalgia event

Last weekend Rock Falls held their 9th annual Fallout nostalgia event. 220 cars signed up. Great crowd. Weather a bit difficult Saturday morning but otherwise it was nice out. My old Lancer was running pretty good. 1/8 mile times better than ever but the car gets soft on the top end. This is...

    Petaluma Ca ‘70 GTX??

From 71-73 while in service in the Bay Area I used to deliver TVs for Mathew’s TV on my days I wasn’t on duty. Each day of the week was a specific area. Used to love heading to Petaluma for that very reason. Always seemed to be neat stuff on the roads once evening set in.

    Piston ring question

Thanks for your reply! These are cast rings I’m pretty sure. I’d guessed the inner notch might be a top ring but then talked myself out of that assumption. The thing that still confuses me here is the notch on the outer circumference of the other rings.

    Piston ring question

Many years ago I picked up a 361 short block which was presented as having been freshened up. I bought it because it was cheap and it was a 62 casting, which I figured might come in handy some day since I've always loved the 62's. After getting it home I looked it over some more and saw much...

FOR SALE 1964-65 B body sedan dutchman panel

From a 65 sedan. Rust free dutchman panel cut from the car with plenty of excess material so you can trim as you need for replacement. It's very common for rust to attack the channel under the rear windshield on these. Water then runs into the trunk and takes out the floor. If your sedan project...

    1962 318 poly dual carb

I want to say those early dual 4 setups used WCFB's but it's been too many years. I had a 58 Fury in 1969 with that setup on it. Lots of fun to drive on the freeway. I remember 145 mph and hadn't gotten into the secondaries on the second carb. Around town it was a pooch. Some years back a local...

    Will a 73 Duster 225 bolt right in a 62 Plymouth with a factory 225?

This may be of no help to you at all, but I had a 62 a few years back that someone had put a later slant 6 in. There was still yellow junk yard markings on the engine. I think it was a mid 70's vintage. The original 62 A/T was used. The car ran and drove fine but there was a slight low speed...
