First time changing oil on 318 and headers are in the way of new oil filter. Any idea of what alternative oil filter can fit it?

Compare a oil filter for a Chrysler PT Cruiser Turbo. Short with a thinner body. Numbers like K&N SO-2009 Napa Gold 7356 STP S3600XL Many others. I have been using these on all of my Mopars for well over 20 years. The Turbo models have a thicker case Plenty room on my LA318 with headers. Damn if...

    Old Carter AFB replacement

Edelbrock's are dual pattern and will fit early and late square flange stock intakes. When using any square flange carb on a spread bore intake (Edelbrock performer)there is very little contact between the gasket and flange. Keep a eye that it is centered using the thick Edelbrock gasket for a...

    Old Carter AFB replacement

Yes it should. You will have to use the Mopar linkage adapter. I painted mine silver, they come in a gold color. Also use the thick Eldelbrock base gasket. The 650 AVS2 is a good street carb. Photos show 2 types of kick down if you are using a Auto Transmission.

Time for a new carb. Advice?

One thing that gets overlooked often is Density Altitude. No two carbs will run the same if the Density Altitude changes. A engine that runs well at 800' sea level will need adjustments at 3600' sea level.Mixture screws, jets and or metering rods along with timing. Just a thought..

Time for a new carb. Advice?

The 750 Performer is fine. BUT the newer AVS2 is more refined.Smoother transition from part throttle. I did the swap on my 472 Hemi car from the 750 to the 800 AVS2. A real life test. The 750 Performer always had a slight stumble and a surge.(Best way for me to describe) Even playing with jets...

Time for a new carb. Advice?

Hell, I ran a Edelbrock 500 on my 451 stroker 5 speed during a 5,000 mile round trip during a Hot Rod Power Tour. Quick throttle response. Yes was weak on top end but for regular driving it did the job. It's all in what you want.Me, I would never use a holley anything. Not that there is anything...

It may be a bit much on the street. A AVS2 650 may be a better choice.

    How to get key replacement?

Places like Classic Industries and Year one should have tumbler/key sets. A local locksmith should be able to re-key the existing ignition/door/trunk locks. I had my 67 Dart done local.
