I have been working on my LED tail lights which is a bit tedious. I think it is going to work out but we will see. Don't hate on me too hard for the pic with the LEDs lit, the panel is just laying in there so it appears like some of the LEDs are not working, they definitely all are. I test each...
im not sure of the condition.
my dash lights are very dim and get brighter with rpm.
can i change them to led bulbs?they seem to just be one brightness and not afffected by rpm.
Just wanted to post an update on the old 73.
I replaced all the wiring with a new American auto wire kit, took a couple months but every thing works now.
Replaced the instrument cluster with Autometer 7030
Replaced the intake with a edelbrock (performer i believe)
Bought a sequential LED tail...
The center socket works with the original incandescent bulb, but not the LED. So could it still be a ground issue? I guess are the LEDs more sensitive to ground issues vs incandescent?
I think this is the rest of the parts and bulbs i used.

I think the easiest way would be to just tap into the existing wiring. Another member of a face book group posted his own version using led light strip ( don't know any real details of the his mod) but he did say he wired them into the turn signals as well as running lights.
Thought that was...
If you look in my garage build thread, I used 8' LEDlights I bought off amazon in packs of 10 for about 16 bucks each. Look at the wattage and get the 110 to 120 watt ones, they are much, much brighter. Cheap and easy to wire up. Buy 20 of them and it'll burn you're retinas. Won't be a dark...
...to pull the cluster out, granted my car is a 67 belvedere, and the cluster might be different. Tape up the column where the cluster will touch, it will scratch it if you don't. Disclaimer : not an expert. I learned this stuff on my 67 Belvedere. Not sure how ledlights work in the old mopar's
...of the shop. I put some older led straight tube lights up in a couple dead spots, not sure if I like them, may buy some more UFO High Bay ledlights.
I built a couple shelves, hard to believe 90% of all this crap fit into a 2 car garage! My shop isn’t the biggest, but it’ll do for my...
As posted previously....
The metal taillite housing for a 70RR has a smaller diameter opening for the bulb mounting and certain LED 1157 replacements are too large to fit through the smaller opening. Check around and U will find various diameter size 1157 replacement. Attached are (2) images...
Make sure they are LEDlights and add a center brake light somewhere visible. Call it investment protection. Those itty bitty old style lights are not enough for todays drivers to notice. You wouldn’t be the first old car guy to have his car wrecked in a rear ender.
Here is a photo of my alternator. I'm not sure if this is the original but when I first got the car there was an alternator on the trunk that looked different than this one .
I'm using up the CFLs in my drop lights that were in the house that got replaced with LED bulbs. Also using several utility clamp-on lights over my toolbox and and certain work areas. Also like the forehead headlight. A buddy had one of those clamp-on under hood lights at the drag strip one...
...over this thread again, learn something new everyday and ate some crow along the way. Some things have changed like the likes of ledlights. With the ledlights you no longer need to do the famous headlight relay upgrade. My LEDs on dim only pull a tad over 3 amps and with all 4 bright...
This would make anyone paranoid. I wired up a bunch of LEDlights using quick-connectors, like those over wire nuts, what a light fixture mfg I worked with gave me. Only quick thoughts would be a defective light, socket was cracked, or that blue wire was assembled poorly. I might go around...
