I have never driven the track. But my impression is a repaving will be in it's future, and I have no idea what a racetrack asphalt track surface costs.
Winters is a great shifter, wouldn't hesitate to use one in a street car, but I tend to make too many mistakes in a race application with a gated shifter. But that's just me. (And a Winters is at least $100 cheaper than the essentially same Cheetah.)
If you have an inspection (snake) camera it works perfect for these types of needs. I have an aftermarket tank as well, and the short tube is towards the center, and the longer one towards the driver side. I've attached photo from under the car, if it helps.
I had a cheetah in my 62 savoy. Bullet proof (likewise the winters) but not idiot-proof (me).

Yes, vehicles “toe out” on turns, having the idler arm traveling in a different arc than pitman arm is likely to effect the geometry on turns even if you get the straight ahead dialed in.
Thinking this comes down to how bad you need more oil pan clearance and whether your car spends more time on...
