New member from Parksville, British Columbia

It depends. The newer stuff does have more of a failure rate than the old, US production stuff. In the future, I'll be putting an OE distributor in with an HEI module conversion. Mopar boxes have problems too unless you get an old one. Like the MSD stuff.

    Manual drums

I would replace all of the flexible brake hoses and add a power brake booster and appropriate Master cylinder. New brake fluid too! Automatic adjusters won't make you stop any better.

    Why do men like gun/cars?

I think in all reality, is that they are both something that screams to be mastered. The car guy is constantly learning and improving their skills. The gun guy is exactly the same. They both are striving to reach that pinnacle of mastery. So, many tiny things can throw you off, but you just keep...

    727 differences between D and 1 from a stop

A friend took out a planetary at MITP a few years ago. He was close to downtown and backed up all the way to the Fair Grounds. He never thought about trying manual low. Good thing he trailered it 4 hours to the show. Yes, a burnout in Drive.

    727 differences between D and 1 from a stop

So, all you guy with this extreme caution, how many have you exploded, or were personally involved with an explosion. Doug gave us only one example from his entire career of racing. It happened because the 900 hp car went wheels up so high that the rear bumper hit the ground so hard it unseated...

    Why do men like gun/cars?

This, I think is the best answer. At least for me. I’ve always been fascinated by things mechanical. Guns, cars, radios, guitars, (yes, they are mechanical) and almost anything that moves. If it makes noise, so much the better. Case in point is guns. I have a pile of them. They don’t give me a...

Push button 727, no gear engagement ?

We all do it. The brain does not want you to think that you made the mistake. So you believe that you could not of done it. Most will never come back and admit the honest mistake. They will come up with some cock and bull story on something else. Makes you feel better when you find it. When you...

Introducing "Project Odyssey" a 1972 "Super Satellite"

Update: Shimmed the other cylinder head springs today. Added light-tension check springs so when I degree the basically stock camshaft I can check piston to valve clearance (pistons are aftermarket flat top with four valve notches).

    Why do men like gun/cars?

My first wife hated fast cars, guns and motorcycles and yet I had all three. Why did you marry me for then....better question is why did I marry her. Second wife liked all three somewhat but my present wife loves all three!

    Manual drums

If this car is new to you, just go through everything. Steel lines, rubber lines, shoes, hardware, proportioning valve, add the self adjusters. I did this on my Coronet and it will lock up as good as discs. If you do decide to go with front discs, your 10" rears and small wheel cylinders will...
