What do you think of Anderson Powerpole/PowerWerx connectors? I could unpin the two factory packard terminals, remove them from both factory side harnesses and add a Powerpole connection with a short bit of wire through the connector? Would allow me to retain the ability to disconnect the sides...
I would try to use a matched pair regardless. 68-70 engines came with 906 heads. 452's are the same as 906's, but with hardened seats. A 452 on one side and a 346 on the other just doesn't agree with my thinking. With a performance build you can increase compression by approximately 1 by going...
Well 12.7 is definitely a problem. You should be at least 13.6 range.
I know you said your going to start another thread about it. But have you upgraded your alternator , to handle all the new toys? You can also check what kind of volts your getting for power feed to the HEI.
I disagree with many of the comments here, respectfully. Federal mogul makes many parts here in the USA. They have a plant in Boaz Alabama. next to my town of Albertville. They were even featured by Mike Roe once.
I like moog parts and have had no issues with them. I’m just ordered...
I would still by-pass both Packard terminals in the charge path at the bulkhead connector at a minimum. But yes, connecting your add-on loads at the alternator, not the battery, will remove those loads from the stock charge path while the charging system is in operation. Be sure to have a look...
Yes i agree for the bendix fork etc.
But I can feel the armature hit back and forth against the end plate feels like more than 1/8 inch.
Thanks for your input
Just my thoughts that armature should not have to much end play?

What does the seal surface look like? My past experience is that those yokes do not take well to a u-bolt conversion. There is not a lot of meat there for drilling and the back side does not have much room for a nut. If it were me I would get a new yoke, straps, and bolts and dont look back.
That is the exact reason! I had Sutton Engineering rebuild the Dana, Ed said if I broke the Dana to Bring it back for a free exchange! That was 20 years ago. I just put it back in the Charger. I had no 8-3/4 and the car came with the Dana! I was going to put a Hemi in the Charger and rebuild the...
Just noticed your thread about timing on your engine. My engine is a built by Muscle Motors 450 and has the same Comp cam as yours. I have a Fast EFI and Fast distributor.
The question I have is about the cam that has a really large amount of overlap. My engine runs good, but at idle is always...
I personnaly don't like the sound of mild cams and low compression. That's why my street cars run mufflers. Sounds way better than open. My 8.0-1 supercharged engine with a [email protected] sounds like a John Deere. Hell I think my racacar sounds mild. 15.1-1 and a [email protected]" cam. No cutouts for me.

...just been pushing along at a slow and steady pace and limiting my weekly spending. All that being said there’s been a ton of progress, including:
* Got a hydraulic T/O bearing from Ram
* Got the clutch kit from McCleod
* Got all the clearances set for the T/O bearing
* Mounted the trans to...
440 source, sidewinder,Edelbrock E street, etc. for a typical flat tappet hot rod type build.
If your heads are ready to go then use them unless you have cash to burn. If they need reworking then I would consider upgrading.
