Old thread but I have basically same car (70 Sat, 318, PS) & had the same "sticker shock" when it came to exhaust prices. Local shops would not make the Y pipe.
I did find a local shop with access to old pattern cards & we bent up a set of duals out of 2" SS at a super cheap price. Problem...
Had a friend with one of these & the solvent he used (don't know what it was) took all the paint of the inside of the tub in sheets. What a mess. Re-did it with POR & held up well.
To 33 IMP, I hope that company moved out of Calif!
I never did get the dishwasher setup I talked about in use...
Been trying to find a bench for my 70 Satellite. Nothing but junk out there & in the $500 to $700 dollar range, all needing complete refurbishing. Too many of the parts cars were crushed back in the "cash for clunker" days. Gotta love big government.
Looking to buy a bumper from them. Best price I could find & free shipping. I assume there are not many re-poppers of 70 bumpers, so would think all the same.
I have bought misc. small items over the past few years but honestly don't remember if there were any problems.
Mine is a 70 & its been awhile but I think I had to take the vent window & track out to get the motor & regulator out. I was completely stripping the doors & as I said, was a while ago (3 years?). Now my problem is I can't figure out how to put them back & the manual is useless for this type...
I'm really late to this party but wanted to point out that one of those grommets is slightly smaller than the other so it can be fished from the car to the door. The door grommet is smaller.
Numbers matching more value? See what the resto-mods are bringing at Barrett- Jackson? Numbers matching seems to only count anymore if it is a "rare" piece. As said above, modern drive-ability with the original look seems to be the choice & where the money is being spent.
I came to this...
It will come put from under the dash but be advised it is big & heavy. Of course all the lines on the firewall side will have to be disconnected. Be careful with the vacuum lines.
Thanks, I didn't realize the pin went all the through. Assumed it just went in to engage the chamfer. Better picture in my head now of how it is put together.
As a follow-up, I'm screwed. Apparently the tip of the shaft beyond the groove that the pin rides in is broke & in the handle in 2 separate assemblies.
How in the world would a person get that pin out to remove the handle? I have another one where the handle won't move, not going to force it &...
Does anybody know what retains the vent window latch knob/lever to the short shaft on the vent glass bottom channel? The knob/lever comes off & I see no means of it being retained on that little stub shaft. I would guess most are the same but this is in reference to a 70 B body.
Thanks

I cannot imagine getting those the upper BJs out with a pipe wrench unless they were just put in & then I doubt it. Ball joint socket & powerful impact, and it worked hard after soaking with PB for a few days. New ones went in just as hard.
