Three years!! Yeesh. They definitely said that they would take a while and have no problem charging for their service. Not a lot of other options out there. Car won't be done for at least a year anyways. Still need someone to help with my crusty console.
Hey gang, I've been absent for a long while but it's time to tackle my Satellite interior and I could use some advice. It's a 2dr/ht and I've already picked up seat covers, molded foam, headliner, carpet and console carpet kit form Legendary. I'm getting door panels from SMS and I thought that I...
Alright, so I adjusted it up and what do you know? I have N and R. I'm finding that I'm getting a bit of a shift flash (that's the best way I can think to describe it) on my 1-2 shift. I suppose this could also be a band adjustment issue.
I got my 727 back from Pat Blais but wasn't 100% sure on the the shift cable adjustment. Currently I'm getting forward gears in N and R. It's a console shift '65 Satellite. I know that the wheel on the housing adjusts the shift points but wasn't sure on the correct procedure.
When we built our altered wheelbase wagon I searched forever for 64/65 sedan doors and pillars but finally gave up and ended up using '63 Plymouth doors. I cut out the wing window frame from our 64 and welded it to the 63 doors. It worked out really well i think.

Closer to 30 years. It had a repaint in the mid '80s and apparently the previous owner really loved this car and took really good care of it...until he didn't. haha Trunk and floors look solid but I need to get it on the hoist for closer inspection. Right now it's all '65 all the time.
Thanks guys, I've been making some good headway on the '65. Found console shift cables that I'll install tonight and hopefully be firing the new motor soon. After that I'll move inside to weld up the floor a bit. It only really needs one patch panel. I've contacted SMS and Legendary about seat...
I checked out Pro fit and have used SMS before (forgot about them). I found the Legendary website hard and slow to navigate. Ever feel like you want just talk to a human? I'll start doing my research with these choices so far.
Looking to start on the interior of my '65 Satellite and wondered what supplier everyone is using for quality and price point. I'm starting with seat covers and foam if it's available then headliner and carpet. Any thoughts?
OK I've been off the grid from this forum for a long time since I wasn't really contributing much and hey, life is busy. But now I have a couple of good reasons to show my face. I've been negotiating the deal for this '65 Satellite for over four years with my buddy and we finally managed to drag...
If they are anything like the Hurst pie crust slicks you will have to get them hot as hell to make them hook. This was our combo on steel cop wheels. The weight was insane.
The A-pillar is the frame on either side of the windshield. Why do you need to replace this piece? is it rotted through? you may be fabricating something or looking at a parts car.
Even though this car is based on an original AWB car, I'm not a big fan of altereds after '65. That being said, it's a cool ride and I like the color combo.
We did a basic six point roll bar in our altered, it would definitely interfere with your rear lower bench but maybe you could get creative with that spot to make a bench work. Roll bars in street cars seems pretty annoying to me but if it's a lok you are going for then do it. I might suggest...
I'm not 100% sure that we will make Ashcroft but Mission for sure.
I've built a few cars from the ground up so I know what it entails but having a new ride to enjoy for the Summer while I collect parts sounds like a good plan. Maybe next year I can try to wrangle the Belvedere for a race car...
