    Right stuff brakes.

@BeepBeepRR this is an old post but did this valve from summit plumb up just like the original factory configuration? Their instructions and customer service/tech assist responses are conflicting.

    1971 340 Road Runner Revival

Same. Summer seems to be full of lawn, pool, and home improvement chores as well as other activities…not to mention it’s usually too damn hot to move LOL.

Slow going this year, but making some progress. Starting to reassemble the front suspension.

    1971 Sway bar bracket shape

Maybe slightly thinner, but they were also shorter so they won’t work. Ordered a correct repro set today. Should’ve gone that way in the first place

    1971 Sway bar bracket shape

Ordered some correct ones. The ones supplied with my rebuild kit didn’t work at all. Bushings were too wide to even fit in the mounting channel and the brackets were too shallow.

    1971 Sway bar bracket shape

Crazy thing is they are both shaped identical and leaning forwards…not backwards, as you would expect if something was hit

    1971 Sway bar bracket shape

My 71 RR’s original sway bar brackets both appear to have bend in them…not a clean u shape. The replacements that came with my front end kit are a clean U shape. Are my originals bent or were they supposed to be that way?

    Replacement Steering Gear

Just a warning. Classic Industries, and others, are selling this Cardone power steering gear as a direct replacement. It does NOT fit my 71 RR. The position of the spline that mates with the steering coupler is more than a half inch shorter than the original. It was visibly short when I took it...

    71 Replacement Rotors

That’s the part number someone else recommended too. I’ll give them a try.

Steering Column -How much forward/back adjustment

I took a chance and ordered a Cardonne MN7500 rebuilt power steering gear assembly from Classic Industries. Price was right, so I thought, compared to rebuilding my own. The dimensions seem off. The location of the splined shaft that connects to the steering coupler is about an inch shorter...

    71 Replacement Rotors

Thanks for the help…I’ll keep you in mind. I’m not spending N.O.S. Money on this one though. Just going to be a cruiser and occasional driver.

    71 Replacement Rotors

I need to replace the old two piece rotors on my ‘71 Road Runner, factory front disc car. The spindles are good, so I’m trying to go back with a correct rotor that doesn’t involve different bearings/sleeves etc. Many places list rotors that fit but then I’ve heard of folks receiving a rotor...

    1971 340 Road Runner Revival

Got the K frame cleaned up and took it to get blasted and powder coated. Tonight I pulled the spindles out of the degreaser soak. Big mess that was!

That came out great. I too enjoy doing a lot of this at home but it was too good of a deal to pass up!

    72 Steering Column Rebuild

I believe I just put a nut on the steering wheel threads and gently tapped the shaft to free the bearing. My bearing was shot though, so it wasn’t seated too well.

    72 Steering Column Rebuild

I got my bearing and other column parts from Detroit Muscle Tech Detroit Muscle Technologies, LLC Turn signal switch I used Shee-Mar SM111. Others recommended it and it was a good match. No wheel though, but I’m ok with that. Got my ignition switch from local auto parts store.

    K Frame Resto.

Pulled the trigger. Got it back from coating today. I degreased it and cleaned up some rough edges but otherwise I left all the factory “character” intact (welding skips across the body etc). Saved me a whole bunch of time and looks great for my purposes.

    72 Steering Column Rebuild

I’d say if you already have it apart, go ahead and replace the top bearing too.
