1971 Roadrunner question.

I have seen several 1971 Roadrunners in my life. Some have the grills completely painted black and others have the grills black with silver/argent around the bottom lip and around the headlights. Does anyone know why?

Swapped parts, Satellites turned into fake Road Runners, refurbished original parts lacking detail etc…

My road runner grill came black with argent around the grill and the head light ring. I painted it all black years ago.

Black with argent outers and inside the headlamp bezels is correct. This is an original paint unrestored car. Yes it came with the 72 bumpers, June 71 build.

Thanks for posting that.

There as some 'discussion" about the 71 bumper I had for sale at Melbourne.

It came off a 71 but has jack slots.

I figured it might be a mid or late year changeover.

Lots of folks said it "has to be" a 72.

Yes, from the factory they came with the argent.
Some leave them all black.
