remove set screw. spray your favorite penetrating lube. grab the end of motor shaft with a good pair of vice grips. holding the vice grips, grab around the outside edge of fan and gently start to try and twist it back and forth and pushing towards the motor. it should start to move and once...
anyone have a source for a bushing kit for the 2300 series carbs? have what i consider to be too much movement on the throttle shaft. trying to fix idle problems.
the carbs i had were pretty rough and just about anything would be an improvement. also, like i mentioned before, i did not have a good experience with the Promax replacement.
i did not. that piece is in the spare parts tote. bought 2 new base plates complete from Holley. i tried to get it squared away to enjoy the ease of adjusting rear carb. in the end, for me, it worked better to figure away to adjust a stock base plate, hence the making of the tool.
i had the Promax base plate but the machining was not accurate and had trouble getting the butterflies to completely close and one of the metering screws would not allow me to accurately adjust. as for the ooh's and aah's, i like it but i am in a mopar deficient area and they just don't get it.
tried to figure a way to be able to adjust the rear carb idle. expensive carb adjusting tools don't provide a good angle to reach screws. came up with this and worked well. purchased a spring that is used to clean commercial coffee makers and a short piece of 5/16 brake line. put a bead of...
not my intention to take any credit for the info i posted. just found it very useful at the time i was experiencing the problem i was having with my car.
i found this post somewhere and it explained the exact problem i was experiencing. might be your situation. i also changed voltage reg but ended up changing alternator to solve problem. see if your parts store can test your alternator.

with my road runner, i gently used a heat gun to soften the glue holding the glass. once the glass is removed, i was then able to tighten the spring clip that holds tension on the pivot. resoften the glue with heat gun and install. be great for over 15 years.
want to purchase a tool like this - https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pro-66779 for adjusting and would like to know what size the allen in the adjuster and size of lock nut on Harland Sharp rockers https://www.manciniracing.com/brb16ratwits.html . car is in storage or i would go and look...
it is not just the bracket. you have to look at the arm and which direction it goes in relation to the box. the 1966 and 1967 arm goes towards the middle of the box and everything later 91968-1970), the arm extends out over the front cover of the box. one on the left is 1968-1970 one on the...
there is also a small difference how the box is molded by the defroster tubes but that won't cause any issues.
the 2 from the left which are 1966 and 1967, you see a difference in the box from the other 3 which are 1968, 1969 and the far right 1970.
this is a view of the blend door bracket for a 1968-1969 (1970 is the same as this but with a different heater core)
here is one for 1967
this way you can see the difference on the orientation of the rod in relation to the cable bracket. you will have the push pull action but the result will...
