1975 B body 400 left side exhaust used in 1973 Swinger with Schumacher motor mounts

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll look into the suggestions. I'm refurbishing the 400 now , it came from the Cordoba that is in my profile pic. 81 K original miles, it looks great so far ( no ridge at top of cylinder, no sunken valves etc. ). It will get fresh timing chain and externals with...

1975 B body 400 left side exhaust used in 1973 Swinger with Schumacher motor mounts

This is kind of a A body question, but I can't find an answer over there. My next project is installing a 1975 400 ( from a 2 door Cordoba) into a 1973 Swinger ( V-8 car). I'll be using Schumacher motormounts and want to keep the power steering. One major hurdle ( from what I have read) is the...

    "Them Dukes, them Dukes..."

OK, found a new headlight switch at Rock Auto, I have headlights, interior lights, and a tail light or 2. Time for the boring task of cleaning all the connectors. Its running and driving great. I do have a leak at the shift selector rod going into the transmission, my 75 RR has the same problem...

Used lifters on a used cam

I'd trust a pile of used OE lifters over what is being sold as "new". I've put a number of engines together with used lifters and cams and had success. These are just driver engines, not HiPo. Its a bit of a gamble, but so is installing "new" stuff.

    Greg Kihn dead?

I remember hearing an interview with him back around 86 or so. He had a car collection with some nice models but he rarely drove them. His favorite and daily was a 1966 Dart that he never changed the oil on and bought used tires. It never let him down and no worries about theft or vandalism...

72 Charger tail light bulb question

Owners manual says only use brass based bulbs. I had a weird turn signal issue awhile back and I replaced 4 aluminum based bulbs. problems solved, I'm guessing ground issue. Might be worth a swap to rule out a possible problem

My new 71 SSP! Any advice accepted!

All Metal is very good product, its all about the surface prep to make it last. I like good ol OSPHO , its reasonably priced and goes a long way in a spray bottle. I don't think it will save the OP's cowl in this case

Colorado is a great destination for vacation, I'm right at the head waters of the Arkansas river, rafting, fly fishing, etc etc. Road trip!

That is a very fair price on the cowl replacement. You are already "into" it, what not pull the trigger and get it right. I'm all for patching stuff to get on the road , but the area around the wipers looks so weak it will fail during a rain storm. Plus you are not on your back trying to do the...

FOR SALE 1973 Big Block Satellite Sebring body shell

98 percent rust free, no wrecks body shell. Has fender tag and VIN on dash. I think it was a floor shift car but have not decoded the fender tag. Floors are amazing, very minor rust on lower quarter panel. No evidence of wrecks or body work. Perfect donor if you have a rusty RR or SSP. Roof was...

My new 71 SSP! Any advice accepted!

Take it all apart and clean above the box, the mice love setting up residence there and it will smell once you start really driving it. I find removing the front seat and set of 1/4" sockets and long extensions makes the job a long afternoon w/o too much cussing! Glad your car did not go up in...

My new 71 SSP! Any advice accepted!

Yes Chris's video is excellent. I rebuilt the front end of my 77 Gran Fury ten years , 75K miles ago and basically just set the toe, my camber is a bit off and I don't drive over 70mph. My tires die a bit early but there is nothing inherently unsafe. Lots and lots and lots of poor people drove...

Sounds like you have a good support system to get over the finish line! Working with elders will be a great memory. I had some grumpy old guys help me when I was a hot head 19 year old with a blown up Satellite. Its a debt I can never repay.

What can be done with flux core?

Stitch the buttweld with 1/2" gaps , aluminum heat sinks glued to a rare earth magnet . Back and forth, back and forth , keep it cool. Then heavy with the seam sealer on internal repairs just like Chrysler did on the assembly line. Steel quality matters as well. I make lots of own panels and love...

My new 71 SSP! Any advice accepted!

The parts quality issue is a real headache anymore. I've given up on Napa etc. due to the trash they have handed off over the last 10 years ( and then telling me "they all do that" when I return the defective part- and you sold it to me anyway!!!). NOS parts are to be had with some hunting. Ball...
