The space between the fiberglass console panel and brake pedal is barely big enough for my (size 11) foot. And that’s without carpet. Is this normal on this my? Or do I need to get smaller feet?

smaller feet. It’s tight there. I’ve been thinking about seeing if I can shift the console 1” right (?)

Or, the brake pedal surface could be trimmed. Who needs that big of brake pedal anyway. Stopping in a hemi is over rated.

Not sure it makes a difference but is yours an auto or manual? Your console trim is finished differently than mine. The fiberglass panel on mine goes all the way from the floor to underneath the top console trim. You have that extension of the console colored trim above where the carpet starts.
Yours may be an upgrade option I don’t have or the console design if diff between manual and auto.

Yes post #5 is an auto which is a different animal. Bleep, yours appears cracked and spread out some. But they are tight

I think I have a tiny bit more room but not much. Kind of a. dark picture.

Yeah, it’s not in the best shape. The part has a 11/65 date label. Who knows what kind of conditions it’s been subject to so could be deformed. The bottom, where closest to the accel pedal has a noticeably large gap from the tunnel flooring contour.

Since the car came without carpet for the area I plan on getting a replacement piece to finish it off. Maybe it will be a little tighter fit.

Something I’ll get used to I guess. Thanks!

There is something kind of odd about what I’m seeing here.

This hump on yours seems like a solid piece of the console body. On my car the hump out is a piece of treated cardboard-like material and it screws to the plastic console body, but does not extend all the way to the top. Until covered by carpet it definitely looks like a separate piece. There is a stainless trim piece that covers the edge of the carpet and runs an inch or so below the console plate with grained console body above that. The hole for the console side lamp doesn’t look in the correct place either. I wish I had a better picture of mine.

Here is one a little better but the carpet is already on it.

This will help show the full picture. What’s weird, and sounds like what you’re talking about same too, is there’s already existing console panel there covered over with this piece. The extra panel was fitted under the top plastic console trim like the factor console you see is. The console light was fitted to the outside of the separate piece. So the function of the light was unimpeded.
But the smaller hole around the pedal area baffles me what it is for?
But otherwise what else is the access to the shift boot area obtained?

Not sure how you can see from these pics of mine.
Keep in mind.
Mine is an auto so the carpeted section is different
