0ne owner 1967 GTX restoration

Here is some of the paperwork. Owners manual, bill of sale, payment book, loan papers, first plate, window sticker, warranty card. We never got a Certicard.

All the registrations since new. Even though it was not driven since 1982, it never was unregistered.

This is what it looked like not too long after I got it from New Orleans in 2006. Not too bad after being in my brothers garage for 24 years. The metal work is being done by a fellow Mopar guy in Jackson that I nicknamed "The Mopar Jeweler".

Hey Gerard, Looks like I found your post on the car... finally :) Here are a few pictures of the car from when you first brought it up to the shop. At first, this was just going to be a "detrim, sand, and paint" project.... but as you can see, it's kinda snowballed. Like you said... looks pretty good from all the years being stored away.

Great car! Great historical pics and great job!

Did you get new patch panels for the quarters? If so where from?

Geez, 4 1/2% sales tax. That will never happen again.

The Mopar Jeweler AKA Corndog in Jackson told me today they came from Year One. He had to do a lot of fitting, triming and reshaping to make them fit like they did.

Hey nice car!!!My 67 was painted the same color blue!!!It was that ivory color from the factory too..You must of had to have the patch panels made by hand..I was lucky and found a guy back east that made them by hand...I had to replace alot more than you!!!Nice ride!!!

I used the same patches from yearone, well, my body guy did. He said it wasn't a hassle at all really. What make is that ivory paint original to? Looks clean!

Nason had a factory formula for W1 code. I sprayed the engine bay and then scaned it and the computer gave me a Jaguar color, porcelain white. The Nason formula was enamel and the paint on the car is Spies Hecker Acrylic Urethane 257 series. I am going to sand down everything with 400 and go back with over reduced 257 instead of clear coat to try to get the OE look with just a very fine orange peal. I really don't want the high gloss base coat clear coat look. I remember how the car looked with it was delivered and it had a nice shine but not that modern clear coat look.
I also want to go back and shoot some primer in the doors at the hinge area, bolt the doors on and re spray the jams, leaving some of the pimer un covered with white.
I may do the same with the hood and deck. The back side of the supports never got a good coat of paint. When the cars were buillt every thing was assembled so some places did not get covered with color.
I know it sounds a little strange to want to have thin and unpainted areas but that is how these cars were built and that is what I really want to replicate.
