11” Drum Damaged- Useable?

This evidently has been on car and used with no issues for quite some time, but a bit of the outer ring is missing, probably hit at one time. Assuming all else is good, any issues in continuing to use this? Does not seem to affect anything I can think of.

On another note, I had forgotten just how huge these 11x3’s are….

I believe that outer ring helps keep out the elements. A chunk that size surely will cause imbalance.
FWIW, many recent replacement drums for the 10" X 1-3/4" A body 8-3/4" don't have the outer ring at all.....
