Working days that is.
Today I called it.
I'm a Journeyman Lineman by trade, and when the call came before last weekend to head to Louisiana for yet another Hurricane response restoration, I said no thanks. I've been on so many storms, it just wasn't in me anymore.
Today was my last day, I called it quits and retired.
I am now officially an old geezer. Immediate plans are to go buy a 74 Buick Centurion and drive 43 mph in the passing lane with my left blinker on wearing those huge sunglasses.:D

Seriously, it's been a great career, been many places, built countless thousands of miles of powerlines in all voltages. It really is is a young man's game.
Tomorrow will certainly be different.

I retired in 1998 with 31 years at AT&T. I was 51 then. I have started and built 2 small businesses since then. Your future is all ahead of you make it what you want. Do well and prosper. Congratulations

I dont think I will ever be able to retire. Congrats

Congratulations. I'm counting down the work days myself, but I'm still over 500 left.

Suspenders and a bowtie too.

You’ll sit around for a couple days then say, ‘what the hell am I doing?’ Then you’ll go get about job. Ask me how I know. Car people can’t sit still, that’s why we build cars. Congrats and enjoy your retirement, however fleeting it is.

Congratulations, I retired earlier this year at 71, tried it in 2013 but after 3 weeks I was bouncing off the walls. This time it’s great, enjoy your life, you earned it!!
