18" wheels

Have you seen the pic of this guy's car? I like the looks of it. Bigger size wheels but an older style with a twist. There's a u-tube video labeled "satellite resto-mod" I believe. process of doing this car. Looks sweet in the end.

these look sweet...i wonder how harsh the ride is around town...

i'm going to stick with the 15's for now....once the car is on the road for a while, i can always switch...and easy mod...i do like both looks....ride quality is a big deal....this car will be my everyday driver.... so i don't want to lose any teeth of the bums... lol!

Wheels probably make the most profound statement of any about a car--notice what the wheel mods do for waygun's afore-posted station wagon. I'm obviously partial to steelies, but I can appreciate the look of any wheel combination when I consider the change it makes in the vehicle's appearance. It's all part of the owner's plan (or lack of) for the car.

If you are doing a "Resto-mod" go for 17s. With a lower stance and beefier suspension bigger wheels are superior for handling. But if its just a street car go with the 15s.
I'm making a resto mod out of my 74 satellite (hence the name SRTSatellite) and I'm going with 17s on itit

Might as well put some rear fender skirts on it as well.Looks like dog shi$$ to me with the top of the tire and wheel hidden.

We could pitch in for curb feelers too if the fender skits go on. Lol

My SRT 10 came stock with 22" with low profile. Looks right for the truck, but are a hassle to keep them from getting screwed up hitting pot holes and curbs.
My girlfriends Mini has 18" and at $349 per tire everytime she bubbles one get a little costly after awhile.

I would stick with 15". Cheaper and more forgiving.

It is amazing the difference between the 17 and 18 on the GTX. The 18 is just too much rim. I will have to use 17's on my 70 GTX due to caliper clearance issues.
These guys that build bajillion HP cars and don't put bigger stopping power are
out of whack. They want to make all that modification but slam you when you want to do something to your car that isn't "period correct".
Kind of like remodeling your kitchen and NOT installing a dishwasher because your 1932 home didn't have one when it was new!
Here is a pic of a very nice car with 17" TTO's. I think it looks outstanding and most importantly...proportional.

the 17's look great! did you notice any difference in ride and handling going from 15 to 17?

Can we get a pic of your car? If not, it must look like dog shi$$ too.

Are you sure the yeiiow Bee is sportin' 17s? The largest BFG Radial T/A I could ever find was 16". I put 265/60 16s on my car (rear. 245/60 15s in front) for exactly the reason you stated: proportion. Nobody even knows they're 16s, they just know something looks "right".
Whatever size the wheels are, the Super Bee looks dynamite.

I took both of these pics at the same show (Bacon Fest at Infineon) . I do know the single pic was 17" because I spoke at length with the owner of the car about fittment issues and such. I was excited to see a B Body with 17's because I knew I would need to use them on my build.
I could be wrong about the yellow Bee but I recall being doubly excited because it had non standard size wheels, they may have been 16's

They look like regular ol' AR TorqueThrust Ds, painted or, more likely, powdercoated satin black.
I got a thing for black wheels, too...

15'" vs 17"

I really liked the look of the Magnum 500's on my Charger, but the 17" Torque Thruster II's are even better
