Just wondering if this will even be noticeable? an 1" difference with the same size tire all around. 7" may have a little more sidewall sucked in look?

I would run 15x7 all around with that tire size, or jump to a 255, 265, 275 for the 15x8.

I plan to run all the same tire all the way around, 255/60R15's if I can find them in a tire I like.

I bought the MT sportsman 245's which say they can be mounted up to a 8.5" wheel so 8" is ok rear and 7" front but wonder if there is going to be a visual difference?

Tire Size:245/60-15
Wheel Diameter:15 in.
Sidewall Style:Solid white letters
Tire Construction:Radial
Tire Diameter:26.60 in.
Section Width:9.50 in.
Tread Width:8.00 in.
Minimum Recommended Wheel Width:7.00 in.
Maximum Recommended Wheel Width:8.50 in.

putting the same tire on a thinner rim will make it slightly taller.not sure if you would really notice any diff in the look.if you are gonna run the same size tire all around i would also run the same size wheel.would allow for easy rotation and longer tire life.

So do you think 15x8 on the front of a 69 RR would work? I have only been able to find one person who said they had no rub problems.

i have run 235/60/15(245's are only 10 mm wider) on many diff 68-70 cars on 8 inch wheels with tons of room.all depends on ride hight and wheel offset.

15x8's

Backspacing (in):4.500 in.
Offset:0.00mm

Would this work up front?

yes will work fine, if worse comes to worse you can always put a wheel spacer on.

Ok, I have decided to try the 15x8's all 4 corners and see what happens, looking at thousands of posts and there are only 2 other people on the planet that have done this lol Parts should be here by the wekend.

my car has 255/60R15's on the front right now and 285's on the back. No rub issues on either though the back is really close and after putting some new sheet metal the right side touches by 1/8" but I still need to cut down the lip around the opening since the new metal is wider there...but on the original metal there were no issues and I drove it that way (very very briefly lol)

But like I said, I am going with 255's on all 4 corners so that I can rotate as needed. I have no idea what the width is on my wheels though.

*don't mind the fender and hood scoop this was from the first day I got the car*

I had 15x10's on my 68 Roadrunner years ago.. I had to jack the body up so that the rear axle would sag, to get the tires on and off, but they tucked under there nicely and never rubbed.

You had 15x10 in the front? wow some people tell me 15x7 rub when fully turned

there full of ****. you can fit a 275 tire on the front with no rub but unless you got power steering be a dog to turn. its all about the right backspacing.

absolute biggest you can fit with no mods is a 305 rear and a 275 front

OK got the wheels and tires today, here are some mock up pics with the 15x8 wheel. It is a hair off the upper control arm lol and with the wheel on it might just barley rub the inner fender well at full steering stop. Tried to get good angles not a good pic taker. Lugs not on just sitting there on the studs.

Will the tire touch the swaybar at full lock?

If you are going to run the 8 inch wheels on the rear anyway, just mount up 2 tires and wheels and try them on the front?. Just my thoughts....

Great Idea, will do just that once the valve stems sow up today.

worse comes to worse you can put a spacer on the front, no big deal but i think they will work
