In 1964, my dad felt they were just plain ugly, I thought they were totally cool. Our 1956 Dodge Sierra wagon was on its last legs, and I thought for sure dad would be trapped into buying one, since he had always traded up to four year old Mopar wagons. Instead, he bought his first new car from the local Plymouth dealer, a 1964 Dealer Demonstrator Jeep Wagoneer, the only time in his life he bought a vehicle that become collectible in later years.
