EDIT- I love the "Elwood Engle" body lines, that he used at fomoco, before using them on the 66/67 Coronet/Charger/Satellite.

There's a couple more cheap ford projects in my neck of the woods, if y'all don't mind me posting them.

I wonder how many guys on the Ford forums are talking about and posting up Mopars? :poke: :rofl:

I had a black 65 Galaxie with an FE and cruisomatic and a red gut and polished daisies, for a daily driver for a few years. Can't say i was impressed. Just another car that made me vow to never own another black car.
( if that pos in post #1 is a $20k car, mine was worth at least $50k, LOL!)

Steve Strope Pure Vision custom DelRio 2 dr Ranch Wagon
I prefer the 57's over the 4 headlights
& extra light for the backup/reverse of the 58-59s

but any 2 dr Wagon can be made to appear cool
my Mom's 57 DelRio Ranch Wagon was Black lower & red top/two toned,
BB FE 4 Speed

I have an affinity for 2 Dr. Wagons,
I was brought home from the hospital after I was born in July 12th 1959
in a 1957 (PLaza) Savoy Wagon 2dr, 6 cylinder/3 on the tree (in a putrid baby blue on blue)
My granddad had bought it for my mom & dad, long before I was born
I think right after one of my older sisters/Candy was born Dec. 20th 1957
from the Shell Oil Exec.s fleet lease cars
I thought of doing a tribute car to that car, just too expensive,
not many parts are available either

57 Plymouth Suburban Wagons Advert. #1.jpg

My personal favorite is a 57 Nomad, silver base & black top
283 FI/badged, probably 427+cid all alum old school SBC, modified of course to taste,
nice wider wheels tires & lower stance, trick chassis suspension etc.
no poverty caps/hubcaps for this guy ever
sort of stock body on the exterior, no hacking
but something like;
all buckskin/saddle leather interior/w-buckets/console
they are like unobtanium in value now

this car is cool by any standards Pure Vision

Me too, affinity for two door wagons, that is. Love sedan deliveries too. Almost bought a 58 edsel SD, (It got away just when the asking price dropped into my range), and I should get busy on my 57 chevy delivery.
Edit: and I would LOVE to have a 55-57Pontiac Safari.
(Poncho version f a Nomad, much rarer)

An acquaintance of a friend of mine, (a true Ford lover) also had a 63 galaxie 500 with a SOHC in it. His was baby blue. Truly impressive car! (Southern California area).

Edit: brain fart. It was baby blue, and it DID have a (stroked) 427 SOHC. But it was a 62 Galaxie 500.
Same guy has a 9second 61 starliner racecar too.

Actually that’s a 63 Galaxie - I’m sure as I restored every single piece of aluminum and stainless trim for my friends 63. Cool car.
yeah I had it marked as a Fairlane mistakenly for some reason
