1966 Hand Me Down Charger

nice looking charger. If you need an engine block, let me know. I live about 50 miles south of Austin, Mn. It's yours for free if you want to make a road trip down.

I felt strong enough to work on the charger today. Got the entire front clip off. Passenger side fender was a factory replacement as seen by the numbers still visible on the back side. But was bummed to find the inner passenger front wheelwell has a really bad repair and was crinkled up along with the passenger side radiator support. Then on the drivers side to the right of the bumper mounting holes in the front frame rail was a rust hole my fist will fit in. The passenger side wheel well was tacked in and is now just flopping in the wind. Some expected rust in the bottoms of the front fenders. But easy fix. Pics coming next.

The rear wheels and tires are staying. I also love the look. Thanks!

You can bet its a good one from roadrunnerman bud, it will be worth the trip! Good luck to you!! :)

Hey Guys! Finely cancer free! Feel a ton better but still need rest and recovery. Today the car took a trip to my buddies shop because I dont have room to work on it here. I also picked up a body rotisirie off craigs for $350.00. This week I will be removing the doors, trunk lid, gas tank, all suspension and rest of interior. I will need to do a couple of frame repairs first then on to the rotisirie. I will be posting more pics as I go.

Im still financially hurting but I need to work on this thing. If anyone has a torsion bar mount, or quarters and would let them go reasonably I would love to hear from you and be very grateful.

God bless all and feels great to be back!

Thanks guys! I have a question. Are the frame rails and inner splash aprons the same on 66=70 b bodies and 70-74 e bodies? Guy has a pair for sale but claims this info correct.

I was wondering what happened with this car glad you are ok and things are looking up.

Thanks guys! I have a question. Are the frame rails and inner splash aprons the same on 66=70 b bodies and 70-74 e bodies? Guy has a pair for sale but claims this info correct.

It was my understanding that most of the front structure of B bodies and E bodies is the same. But don't take my word for it...

Just found out the 70-74 e bodies and 71-72 b bodies are only the same. Found some rust free rails already out for $200 and have inner splash shields. Hoping to get them by thursday. Still need a torsion bar mount. I know they reproduce them but hoping to find a reasonably priced nice used one yet.

I have a 1958 chevy truck in the shop for new rockers and a few patches then back to the charger. Lots of pics to come.
Anyone know of any repairable quarters? Thanks again everyone!

Ran to Elco, MN. and picked up a couple of front frame rails with the inner splash shields. Awsome guy!!! He also had a really nice 1972 Challenger body missing the whole front structure and suspension that Im going back for/ Then I have another project for the day when the charger is done. I will post pics of the rails next.

Cool car and keep us posted

Thanks for your kind words and offering up your 361! It may be a possibility. Worked on the charger a bit today. Got out the seats, carpet, rocker trim, sill plates, trunk lid, front and back glass, steering column, and most of the console. Here are the pics of the deconstruction showing the destruction but hopefully soon reconstruction coming soon. Hey kinda sounds like cajun man from saturday night live. Remember Adam Sandlers bit? Back when they were still funny.charger restoration 009.jpgcharger restoration 010.jpgcharger restoration 013.jpgcharger restoration 017.jpgcharger restoration 018.jpgcharger restoration 019.jpgcharger restoration 020.jpgcharger restoration 021.jpgcharger restoration 022.jpgcharger restoration 023.jpgcharger restoration 024.jpgcharger restoration 025.jpg
