Does anyone know when the 66 charger production stopped? the engine in the car is dated May 23rd, 1966. I was wondering if that engine could be correct for this car. Thanks

Is that cast date? My 66 was cast 1-19-66 for 3-08-66 car.

yeah that’s the block cast date.

the car SO number is 71209501.

Think 712 =July 12 scheduled production date. It seems like right length of time between cast and production date. You could check pad for engine assembly date. Probably 6 with probably a two digit number, meaning engine assembly date June xx. Mine was abouth between cast and engine assembly.

most hemi's I have seen are going for 20g's or better
The car would have to be pretty reasonable
The cost of a hemi itself could be enough to make the entire project unreasonable
plus the difficulty of finding a date correct hemi and related parts
