Check out the barn find I came across today, unfortunately it was missing the trim tag, motor was in the car 440. Automatic with Air conditioning. looked to light green/ black top / black interior originally

Missing some interior but the floors truck and qtrs we're amazing. Under the vinyl roof didn't look too good. Was told it has a clean title.

He wouldn't give me a price.. but were talking.. whatcha think?

is anything usable with just a clean up? dash? cluster? GTX only trim? grille? stainless interior door panel trim there?

i focus on the hard to find stuff, the rest is fixable

That has been a sweet car in it's day. You can probably buy a running driving car for less money than you'll spend on that one if you plan on a full restoration .

I think that roof is one of the scariest things i have ever seen.. BUT... everything is fixable.... Thing is from the pics, you will be hunting for/buying A LOT Of stuff, especially interior.. ......so unless the price is amazing or you have time/deep pockets.

Yes there was stainless trim bumpers and woodgrain door panels in the trunk.

if the bottom is truly rust free, and doesn't need all the sheet metal it's miles ahead of most; but I'd have to see it to believe it

I can see crusty rust on the underside.

That can mean holes underneath the crust.

Tears me up seeing this at times. A friend of a friend of mine has a stock 318 '69 Satellite, been sitting out side of his garage for 14 years or so. Un molested car. Would have been a nice driver when it was parked, and the clock just keeps on ticking.

I agree with CarolinaCharger....resto would be probably much more than buying a nice one on BaT. BUT, buying one on BaT or wherever requires $60k up front. Resto will take maybe $100k over 5 years...cashflow is king.
I always loved these cars and a "garage find" always has that mythical feel to it. Good luck!

At 2080 hr/ yr it's only a yr and a half. If you did it as a full time job.

Sure it needs a roof skin but they're available. The low lying fruit project cars are gone, this one really doesn't look too bad. Proceed with looking at it but look at it carefully.
I would check it out carefully, make a list of the AMD you need (and there will be surprises when you get into it), then show that to Mr "make me an offer".
