1969 Charger 440 RB Exhaust Manifold Studs and Nuts: Do I need to use Lock Washers?

Should I be using lock washers to attach my exhaust manifold to the studs?

The previous build used them but I noticed when I bought a new exhaust manifold stud/nut kit that it did not include lock washers.

Also should I be using Anti-seize or some other product on the studs?

Never saw lock washers on any exhaust manifolds, or headers for that matter. I do like to use anti-seize a lot on stuff. I don't think it could hurt.

10-4 on the never seize, on any exhaust or aluminum. You’ll thank yourself if you ever have to take it apart.

The exhaust studs that go into the head need sealant on the threads so coolant doesn't weep past and leak.

I finally got lucky on something.... The studs that go into the heads stayed in when I removed the nuts, so I am good!.

I've also learned that anti-seize must be used on two stainless steel fasteners (nut & bolt) when used together.
