1969 Charger R/T resurrection

Cool to see the progress elk, that butyl is nasty $h!t for sure but laquer thinner destroys all haha. Those headers and the rest of your exhaust look gorgeous!!

Forgot to add about the rear bump stops, mine were the triangle ones and judging from the undercoating on/around them, had never been replaced from the factory. :thinker: think it might be a dana vs 8 3/4 difference instead of an engine difference?

Take a minute to bolt those got headers to your heads and make sure you can get a spark plug and socket on all 8 cylinders. I have had two sets that had a problem at # 5.

Bolted the headers up to some 906 heads which should be the same as the 440 Source ones I will be using. #5 seems fine. Probably the tightest fit is on #6, but I can still wiggle a socket on the plug.
Forgot to mention that I bought all the TTI stuff from Bill @ Chicago Connection. He's a great guy to deal with even calling me on a Saturday to let me know when everything would arrive. There doesn't seem to be many sellers for TTI. I was going with Mancini until I asked about free shipping like Chicago Connection does, expecting them to match prices. Not possible and the salesman told me I would have to go elsewhere (rather rudely), so I did. Mancini told me they order everything factory direct and then reship to the customer. Bill told me he does the same, but has everything go directly to the customer - hence the cheaper price. I was quoted $120. from Mancini, so it does make a difference.

I'm definitely going to have to keep that in mind when i'm ready to order an exhaust. Looks good Hunt.

Exhaust system looks great Elk and thanks for the review of the tips. Headers look awesome and seem to have excellent plug access for headers

Those headers do look great. I take it they are coated so hopefully the heat won't be too bad for a couple of the plugs.

Yep, they are ceramic coated so I am hoping that will minimize some of the heat issues.

Great day in Wisconsin - the car was just picked up and will be painted Friday.

"Yippy" that's great news "aw **** that means your going to beat me done to" haha. No seriously that's great to hear, things will really heat up now in the garage with all of the excitement. Congrats

Yeah I'm pretty stoked about this thing finally getting its turn in the booth. Seems like I've been waiting forever. They plan on painting the car Friday morning and all the other panels Friday afternoon. It will get baked in the booth and then sit in the shop till Monday when it will come home. I went all out and had them get some of the original style Organisol for the rear panel. Very pricey, but what the hell its only money - right?
