1969 Charger R/T resurrection

Hunt, Just finished getting through all 37 pages of your thread. What an awesome looking car!!!!!!! Love what you're doing and have done to it. Fantastic pics and commentary on your posts and tips. Also lots of stuff here for me to use if I ever can get to doing up my 69 Charger RT/SE with a 440HP and auto trans. Was very interesting how you were going back and forth about the color choice as mine originally was T5 copper with a tan vinyl top, tan (CRT) interior and white tail strip so I was rooting for you to chose copper. But I understand you going with the wife's choice, it's called gallantry (a masculine word for love).

If the wife is happy, everyone is happy. She has wanted a triple black 4-speed 69 Charger since she was a child. I guess there are worse things to have to do for a woman lol. But I did get the ok to do another car if I want.
You need to get a thread going on your car. As you probably know, T5 is one of my favorites. Black top, black interior, and white rump stripe. Damn, now you have me second guessing my color choice :eusa_wall:

When a guy has a wife that was interested in cars since she was a kid, you gotta give her one. It's rare to have a wife who liked cars from that age so no need to second guess you're color choice since you're not going numbers matching like I would have to. Great on the OK to do another car though.

i wouldn't second guess your choice in color Joel, Wife's happy and the Charger stands up on her own! Fantastic is a small word with the great work you did to make it that beautiful BUT, You do have the go ahead for another car project, ummmm, T5 on a 68-69 Super Bee or 70 RR, i imagine there's a number of them including yet one more Charger in the stable that TF, black top, interior would look great on..
If you and Will ever get together, id pay for a 5-10 of those two black beauty's together! :)

Hey H2E . . . IT'S MONDAY ! ! ! I can only imagine the excitement you're feeling to go see your car ! ! !
Have a great day - after all your hard work . . . You Deserve It ! ! !

And post a really nice pic for us to drool over too . . . ( smile )

She's Monday alight. Only problem is I ended up with a major workload today and will have to take off before the bodyshop is opened up this morning. So it will be later this afternoon before I am back in town. Sometimes drives me crazy as to why people figure they need a working furnace in WI in December lol. Oh well - it pays for this resurrection I guess.

Thanks Ron. I'm not really second guessing the color - I just like several colors that's all and a guy can only have so many cars. It's black, looks great & the wife is happy. That's all that really matters. Good to see you poking around here again. Now we just have to find Will.

Boy you ain't a kidding, I'd love to be in your shoe's "your very lucky". My wife hates my car with a passion and has nothing nice to say about it. I get guilt trips all the time about time and money to the point where I only work on it late at night (usually 8:00PM-2:00AM means no time taken away from the family) and do side jobs to pay for it and she still complains. She's a great girl, mom and wife but just really hates this car "it sucks". I almost don't even want to put a passenger seat in it "just a rear for the kids".

Just got back from the body shop and about all I can say is I think this thing is a keeper. It turned out gorgeous. The guy who painted it is a very, very good bodyman in his own right. In my mind he gave the ultimate compliment to the kid - saying the bodywork was extraordinary, and it shows in the final product. Pictures don't do this thing justice. There are also a couple pics of the Organisol on the tailpanel. The body will be dropped off to me in about an hour so I can get things ready for the headliner. It will then be picked up again on Wednesday to go to another shop for the vinyl top and headliner. Then back to me on Friday and into my garage for the winter. :headbang: Everybody who has seen the car has commented that the roof is to nice to cover up with a top, but it is going on.

X2 71AG! That's an excellent way to describe it and while it looks so great in these pictures I doubt it's doing true justice to what its like to look at it in person. It looks slippery

Looks like it's still wet! WOW!

It does really shine. And this is with no buffing or wet sanding. This is the reason I wanted it painted by this guy.

She is absolutely FLAWLESS and STUNNING!!!!!!
Sounds like I'm describing a diamond doesn't it???

It does - and I could buy a huge rock with what I have in this thing. But it looks cool and that's what counts - right?

Didn't know if you found those water guards for the rear quarter windows, there's a set on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-1969-1...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d154aaf12&vxp=mtr

Thanks for the lead, but mine arrived today. If any of you are in need of parts that our local yokos here don't have, this guy has a lot of stuff. I bought several things from him last year and then these shields. He runs a huge ad in MCG also.

Holy cow that is incredible H2E . . . not only are you about the only person I've heard of that said the car was going to be painted on Friday, actually get it painted on Friday, I can't even come up with a word that describes how incredible it looks. Incredible does not even do it justice ! !

How's the "dad" doing now that he's unveiled his masterpiece ? ! ? ! ?

You've got to be very proud of your work ! ! ! Thanks for sharing ! ! ( and Will even showed back up to see it ! ! How cool is that ? ? )

she`s got the glow now looking real :headbang:
