Yeah - it would be nice to have one, but they sure take up a lot of space.

You are probably right about the 999 parts, but I don't want to think about that lol. No chance of turning into a trailer queen - this thing will be driven a lot.

She is GORGEOUS!! And I love that paint on the tail panel!

Thanks Don. Yeah, I have grown quite fond of the Organisol also. I'm really glad I used it instead of standard paint/clear.

Congrats on the maiden bolt-ons!! Haha, damn she is looking drop-dead gorgeous!

And good idea on the wiper pivots, if you still need new seals and stuff I bought this kit that was pretty nice. I know dmt sells one too that looks the same

Thanks Speedy. That looks like a nice kit, but I think I have the gaskets around here somewhere. Just have to find them.

Well, I know what I get to look forward to H2E . . . finding the part ! ! !

I've got an even better one for you . . . I can't find where I "safely" set the keys to my car ! ! ! ( ugh ! )

Hope that someday I'll eventually find where I put them . . . .

Well, at least you have a couple of days before you need them lol. I don't know how many times I have spent a 1/2 hour looking for a certain part that I remember placing in an exact spot on an exact shelf, and it is nowhere to be found. Then I stumble upon it a week later. I'm chalking all this up to old age.

thanks H2E...but it has to be hard putting that thing together as you watch yourself in the reflection of that beauty...lol

Apparently you know me H2E ! ! ! ( GRIN ) . . . and I know exactly how you feel . . .

Agree here H2E. Only thing I can add is personally I have experienced that same problem but have to add that some times when I have found (months or years latter) what I was looking for, I had forgotten why I was looking for it. HAAAAAAAAA

Dang those mind problems!!!

An enclosed trailer is a great idea! I imagine one day it will come in handy for other things as well, I love how your tail panel looks on this, just blends in perfect with the car!

I've been watching in the background for awhile now hunt and all I can say is good job!!!! I really cant wait to see it completed.

Just borrowing the trailer Ron, although it would be nice to own one at times. They take up an awful lot of space though.

hunt2elk I call it my sometimmers or now mosttimmers acting up... I do the same damn thing, your not alone brother, walking into or out of a room sometimes, I forget what the hell I went in there for, especially when I'm rushing around like a chicken with my head cut off, the rest of the time I'm pretty good about remembering things... keep up the great work...

I ended up having one of those good day - bad days regarding the Charger. The machine shop has had the motor on their dyno for a week now waiting for me to free up some time to see it in action. Finally got a chance to get over there and must say I was pretty impressed with how these things work. After 5 pulls we started to notice a miss at the top end of the rpm range. They kind of thought it was in the ignition/ wiring, but we made a couple more pulls playing with the timing to get the most power. Got up to 485 hp with 541 ft. lbs. of torque. Idles very nice @ 800 rpm with 13.6" of vac. After the 10th pull he took off the distributer cap and measured the reluctor gap. It was at .012, so he set it to .07. Started the next pull, it got to about 2k and just shut right down. Pulled the cap and saw that the vac advance and reluctor were way out of wack, and then grabbed the rotor and could spin it freely. We took the dist. apart and found that the main shaft which looks like it is attached to the rotor shaft with splines was spun. :angryfire:
I bought this electronic conversion kit last summer from Mancini after looking around everywhere for somebody who had one in stock. After I received it, I noticed that it didn't have the same sticker on it like my other older 383 kits. I called Mancini and was told they are having these kits made up since Chrysler ones are not available anymore and was assured I would be happy with it and they are exactly like the originals. So I kept it. I call them right after this happened and am now told they have recently discovered a stash of the originals and will sell me one of those for an extra $35. So now I get to wait for this to arrive and the machine shop is letting the motor sit until the new one comes. I was also told there is a difference with their repro dizzys- there is no adjustment in the tube of the vac advance. Not that that is terribly important. It still kinda burns me that I will have to pay the shipping charges for the new one and then again to send this pos back to them.

WOW, I've never seen so many wires, tubes, and hoses in my life.. Glad you shared that problem, I was going to buy one of those myself.. I feel your pain bro! Hang in there. My envy grows every time I look at your thread! I was telling someone the other day, you and I started about the same time, you did more to yours and now your about thru. You da man!

"Sweet" that sucks, this is life in the car world, one moment your on cloud nine and the next your wanting to smack someone over the head with a wrench "for me it's the Chinese that can't seem to use measuring tools correctly". At any rate that's some pretty stout numbers, enough for allot of fun and a wallet full of tickets haha. Very nice looking as well "love pretty motors" Congrats Elk.
