1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

I received my parts distributors from Justin and Dave, thank you!

So I mixed and matched some parts and added my Pertronix Ignitor III. It goes in place of the stock points plate and is pretty straight forward I used a 9.5 mechanical plate from one so 19 degrees on top of initial (14 degrees) for 33 degrees to get a base and adjust from there.

And I welded up a coil bracket that holds it vertical and out of the way of the carburetor.

That's how I feel lol.

I ordered another batch of parts tt I can put on once the engine goes in. Radiator hoses, heater hoses, fan/fan clutch, spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, rad cap, thermostat, fuel pump.

I also ordered a carb. I decided on an Edelbrock Thunder Series 800 cfm. It is a factory rebuilt unit and was $350 through Summit. For the price I think I will be happy. I have a 600 cfm Performer on my 318 and it has been excellent. I also got the fittings and tubing to run dual inlets.

My PTC converter arrived in the time frame they quoted me.

What is this .....carburetor..... thing you speak of...... I think I remember seeing one in the natural history museum?

Yeah he told me 3-4 weeks, arrived at 3 1/2 weeks. Aew you installing engine & trans together or separate?

It's going in seperate, I don't have the ceiling space to drop them in together and i am not pulling my suspension and k frame to go in from underneath. It's not bad.

Before you install them take a marker and mark the converter & flex plate mating holes. It will save from getting some of the converter bolts in to only find it wasn't indexed right.

Last one I did, I fit the converter to the flex plate and rattle can painted one leg so there was zero confusion. I've had marks rub off before lol.

I'm not going to lie, money was a factor. $350 was a great deal and the Eddys are super easy to tune and it is a great street carb. Maybe someday I will upgrade, but this will get me burning rubber :)

I'm a Holley guy, but carbs are way easier & cheaper to get on the road.

Menial task achieved! I put together the thermal Hayden clutch and the 18" Flex-a-Lite fan and bolted it up to the water pump. Getting the bolts in was a pain out of the car so I'm going to try and stab the motor with the fan in place.

I also lubed and installed the Carter fuel pump. This puts out 5.5 to 6.0 psi which is exactly what I need for the Eddy carb.

If you have PS, putting on the lower hose first will help also.

No power steering! No power brakes! Bare bones lol.

Is it possible to attach the headers, leave them loose and drop the motor in?
Or is it better to lay them on the inner fenders and drop the motor around them?
They came with protective pouches to keep them from getting scratched in install.

I laid a blanket on the inner fender, than laid the headers in and secured them with zip ties & wire. Also if you can hook up your starter harness now that will be easier. I put the headers on while it was on the stand to get the wiring routed correctly.

Also if your putting a mechanical oil pressure gauge on, now is the time to install the fitting and line, same with OEM sender.

I also set up the rev limiter on my Pertronix. Super simple. Hook up to a 9v battery to red and ground module base. Adjust until it blinks the rpm you desire. I set mine at 6100 rpm as my governor is set to shift at 5800 rpm.

Recieved UPS notice that my torque converter is getting here tomorrow! ! So I prepped the car. I need to get trans fluid to fill the converter before it goes in. I hope the headers fit, fingers crossed.
