1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

Don't forget your dipstick. Easier to deal with a problem now, than when it's in the car. Don'the ask how I know.

Lol, I got a dip stick with my order. Do I just test fit it or install it before the motor goes in? What exactly am I looking for?

You can install it. I used one with a fitting.

Ok, thanks! It was a pain in the butt as it was tight but it is in the block. I used a 3/8" open end and a hammer to seat it. It isn't coming out lol.

Yeah it's a pain if you wait till it's in the car!

I went and looked at it. Solid, unmolested 383 2bbl car. The only rust was the dutchman panel and supports. Floors, firewall, cowl frame look new. A/C car and it has all the parts. Bad are it has some collision dents in rust free fenders and quarters. And the seats and dash are roached. I would offer him $7k if I was in the market.

He also had an impressive collection of orignal, unrestored VW busses.

I would make it my Daily driver!

It would look great and be fine in the desert, even with the rotted dutchman. The A/C is still hooked up so may only need serviced, motor was missing the water pump and he said it was parked because of a busted flexplate. It would need seat covers.

I don't need another project, I don't need another project, I don't need another project.......

Mmmmm could I sell the idea to the wife of a business to have classic Coronet rentals for vacationers........

Oh, by the way I can't afford to drive the small block to and from town as it is, I don't need a big block!

Everything is on hold until my torque converter gets here. So here is a picture of more parts I received from Summit. Most notable are the Pertronix Ignitor III ignition / coil. Multi spark up to redline and a rev limiter. Trans cooler lines ( should have my cooler tomorrow so I can instal that. Plus I picked up 5/16" steel rod to form my throttle lever which I will go more into detail once I start working on it.

It's a 2 barrel so it will easily get 20mpg lol

What kind of mileage are you getting?

What the hell is the point of the BB if I leave it a 2 barrel! I don't know, I just know it is MUCH less than the 36 MPG my Civic gets :)

So true! My poly gets 14 to 16mpg with 600cfm and 3.23 rear. I am going to $hit myself once I get the GTX on the road. I may set it up as yard art lol.
