I have a 1970 Gtx with the stock power buldge hood and Id like to put a Edelbrock Performer RPM on the stock 71 440 thats in the car. I have a Holly 770 Street avenger carb and small non stock air cleaner. Any body try the RPM with stock power buldge hood and what kind of hood clearance did you have. Thanks

its going to be very close. an RPM manifold is even taller then a six pack manifold by a little bit. you might consider a torker II they are a little bit shorter if thats an option for you.

My brother had a TM7 (which is pretty tall) on his 70 RR and the air cleaner nut would rub the hood skin if you did not tighten it down correctly. It was an air grabber hood, so I think that there was even less in the way. I think that it will be too close.

Actually an 70 AG the hood would be more in the way. I could run a Torker 440 and breather with a stock 70 Power Bulge Hood but not with the Air Grabber, well not with a breather anyway. So I switched back to a stock intake.

I'm sure you could order the Edelbrock intake, and after you get it do a test fitting (don't bolt anything down you could even keep it wrapped in the plastic shipping bag) with all the parts/components and if it will not fit with the stock hood send it back............just another thought........

No rubbing issues with mine, I do have a drop down base which cuts down on side breathing, but since the Air cleaner breathes from the top and sides I am not concerned with it. See pics.

With a Mopar unsilenced air cleaner (you can get either chrome or wrinkle black), I had no problem at all.

I just checked out your album. Nice car mont1le
Thanks tallhair, the car is getting re-done as I post this, will post as soon as it's done.
I checked your R/T ragtop, awesome car. Is the Super Bee yours also?

The Carb. is an Edelbrock 1013 800CFM and the drop base is a standard Holley or Edelbrock one, I do not remember now. I think it drops it down 1 1/2 to 2 inches.

Fits by JUST a hair

This combo fits by just a hair. The air cleaner lid actually rubs on the hood insulation (the stock black foamy pad thing inside the hood. Stock 70RR hood. It's an Edlebrock Performer RPM intake manifold and an Edlebrock air cleaner (that I bought at Pep Boys because the stock twin snorkel definitely did not fit and I just HAD to drive the car with the new engine in it)! It's a Quick Fuel Q850 carb, but since it's holley-based I think it's the same height as other carbs...
